Here’s the recap to all of the listeners of Mellow 94.7 who tuned in… Thank you so much for all listening ^_^  Let me know if you have any more questions you can contact me here.

5 secrets reasons why you need to start your own blog now

Watch live video from flaircandy on Justin.tv

1. there are lots of perks to blogging…

you can earn from it, get invited to important events that matter to you and build your personal brand.

This is no secret actually but I just want to share the perks of blogging.

You get to endorse some products (Vaseline got me as one of their ambassadors for the brand. So, you can see me and my other two blogger friends Nikki and Ada on TV now we have a TV commercial inviting everyone to join a contest to win a roadtrip of a lifetime.)

You earn from it through Google Adsense, Nuffnang.com.ph

Your blog gives you intangible benefits.  By intangible I mean you get to build your own personal brand. Vaseline, Nike, and other brands built their brands for years… you have a brand too, that is, your own name, your own blog.

2. You don’t need to be a journalist or a hard-core writer to start your own blog.

This is often a misconception. Some people are shy or scared to start their blogs because they might be, figuratively speaking, “arrested by online grammar police.”

Don’t worry about it. Some bloggers in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Korea and some countries that don’t speak English well still got famous. They still achieved whatever purpose they have set for their own blogs.

3.  You don’t need to give up your day job just to blog.

I started blogging while I was working for Deutsche Bank.  I loved working for the company so much that I cried when I left, but I saw the potential of blogging and what career I can make out of it so I decided in due time to move on. If you are not ready for that yet, just continue to build your blog, create content and continue to write.  Most of the popular bloggers still have their jobs and whatever earnings they have from their blogs are just bonuses.

4.  There’s no risk at all and it’s low cost.

Unless you don’t want fans and lots of readers emailing you or stalking you… then you’ll be fine.

It’s low cost.

You can blog for free. You can actually start now at blogger.com. It’s what I highly recommend because it is very easy to use, very friendly for beginners but pros love it as well. If you want to earn from your blog, there are widgets that you can automatically set up.

If you’re shy, start blogging with anonymous.  Create an alter-ego :)

5.  If you want to try blogging and get out of the corporate rat race. Start now.

It may take a while to build a personal brand through your blog.

I have been blogging for about 2 years now and people started to find me through my blog only after 1 year.

That’s about it folks.

Here are some useful links that could get you started on your own blog, right now:
