GAAAAAAHHHH!!!

I remember last year, I wasn’t able to make a birthday blog post. I usually do not make any birthday blog post!!! If I do, it will be days after.

I just realized that during the last days of October, many things happen! When I was still working for Deutsche Bank, I would be preparing month-end reports by this day. In some years, I would need to renew my driver’s license. Also, my birthday is Halloween season. And when it’s Halloween, there are many parties, events and all that other stuff! Aside from the fact that I will be attending all of these gatherings, I would also need to find, buy or create my desired costume for Halloween.

So, if you ask me now on which occasion I am more excited to celebrate on – My Birthday? or Halloween?

- I am getting old leh… so, at this stage, I am not really enthused about aging another year. I mean, this year, I just marked my life at the quarter of a hundredth… (Go figure what that means)

- Halloween is more fun – I get to go to parties in costumes!

- I really don’t want to celebrate birthday. Here in the Philippines especially, you are the one treating your friends. In other countries like the US, your friends treat you.

- Not that I don’t want to throw a party, I do… I really do… I want to gather my friends in High School from St. Scholastica’s Academy, from College at La Salle, my review-mates at CPAR for the CPA board exam, my former officemates, the bloggers and many more! But, the truth is, I’m broke Sad smile seriously.

- I get jinxed on my birthday all the time. I usually lose something on my birthday – cellphones (a lot!!!), boyfriends and many more. I even saw a kid get driven over by a car and it was a hit-and-run! A lot of not nice things happen on my birthday. Coincidence or not, it’s just freaking me out. This year… like just a few days ago when it was my birthday – my Blackberry got stolen. Sad smile

Obviously, I like celebrating Halloween more. But, it doesn’t mean that I don’t look forward to receiving gifts on my birthday. Gifts come in many ways, and Mica (my dear dear friend) gave one of the most unique birthday gifts of all – Dedicating a blog post on her blog Micamyx.com for me ^_^ I am so touched! Thank you so much Mica Smile

I just celebrated my birthday with family and I brought Vince with me (as always). Since it’s also Vince’s birthday 2 days after mine, we celebrated both our birthdays together with a simple dinner at Antonio’s Tagaytay. Dude, I’m telling you, I just wanted to relax on that day. I even did not take much photos for Antonio’s. I wasn’t even planning to blog about it. I just decided to enjoy the meal on a cool night Smile

Cream Halloween Ball at A-Venue

I have been preparing my costume for Halloween since Tuesday. Vince and I decided to go to Tutuban and 168 to shop around for Halloween costumes in Manila. We thought of becoming Pokemon characters and luckily we found what we were looking for!

I actually needed Pikachu Tail and Pikachu ears. I ordered online via ebay for only USD 10 but I think it will take longer and as predicted, my thing hasn’t arrived yet. So, I had to make my own tail and ears! Good thing I got it right! Even the tail was so secure and stable that it didn’t need extra support even if people keep bumping into it at the crowded Cream Halloween ball! Creating the tail on my own required Quantum Physics But don’t worry! I took pictures of how I made my Pikachu costume and I will post a tutorial soon on how to make your own Pikachu tail and ears!

We were happy to find that anime vest at 168 for only USD 15 and the cap for only USD 3

Vince’s sister Cheryl just drew the green thingy on the cap that signifies Ash Ketchum’s cap, she will post tutorial soon on how to make Ash Ketchum’s cap on her blog.

I was happy to meet Show Zuki of Jam 88.3 in person! I tune in to him often and he just plays the best music ^_^

He’s also very charming and very likeable, so friendly and just game! Love it!

All in all, this is the best Halloween party I’ve gone so far. I just hope they played some little bit of hip hop, but yeah, it was all trance music with Binary Finary from Australia. It was awesome because a lot of people were really in costumes which is super nice! It would suck if no one really put an effort to put costumes on.
