Chuck Bass, Ed Westwick in Manila for Penshoppe!

was reading the news over at pep.ph (shout out to the Karen! :)

and OH EM GEE!!! He is coming over to Manila!  I am like a die hard fan of him – the boy you love to hate on Gossip Girl!

I have been a fan of him since The Filthy Youth (his band) oh yes he sings the vocals! his band was featured in my blog as one of the very first posts I had on flaircandy.com. Oh yes, May 2008 is ancient in blogging years but hey! they are my 5th post!

and do you know that we are actually FRIENDS on MYSPACE! but of course he doesn’t maintain this now :(  at least I got lucky to view his personal pictures (ehemz) way back when he wasn’t so mainstream yet 😀

… and uhm… I forgot my MySpace account already *dusts*

Anyway, he’s coming over in Manila in June for Penshoppe!

Incidentally, I just bought Penshoppe stuff over the weekend:

Anyway, I was actually hoping that they also get Blake Lively (Serena Van Der Woodsen) … but they got Solenn already and I think they are kinda separated from birth don’t you think?

blake lively Met Costume Gala

Chuck Bass is currently in Manila as I type this!!! He will be here till Friday only (exactly 72 hours).  He’s here for a photoshoot. and that’s what he’s doing – work… I hope though that they have a Press Conference and I get invited! That would be super awesome *calling friends from Penshoppe! 😛

Listerine Total Care Challenge

Listerine Total Care Challenge

I am very keen on Oral care and hygiene! I can say I have strong teeth.  I was dubbed “Miss Kiddy Teeth” when I was in first grade :P  I had no cavities at all as compared to my other classmates who then have a lot.

But, growing up, I started to have some of those ugly black thingies (cavities) and my mom had to take me to the dentist to have them “fixed”

My other problem for my mouth is that it is too small to fit all the teeth inside and they all got crowded!  They had to remove 4 teeth (it’s what they call wisdom tooth – they removed my wisdom, hence Crazy Hannah 😛 I’m kidding)

I often got meat stuck in between my teeth.  Sometimes I would notice, sometimes I won’t and boy if only I could see how ugly it would make my teeth if I let it stay there, I would have flossed at least once a day!  I hated flossing because it always makes my gums bleed and it hurt!  But, how do you really take care of your mouth?

Still, up to this day, I don’t even know what really is the proper oral care regimen.  The only thing I know is I always want to have a pretty smile and I would love to enjoy munching on my food every day!  I enjoy eating and having tooth problems will make this activity a hassle!

I always feel like my gums are super sensitive! Like it would bleed sometimes when I brush my teeth.  I just accepted that fact because I think it’s just weak like that, genes and all… but it didn’t occur to me that maybe, I must have been doing something wrong, that’s why my gums aren’t that strong…

and that is what I found out when I had my dental check-up at the Villareal dental clinic!

Dental Check-up.

Listerine-6-Six-Week-Challenge-Mouthwash-a-Healthy-5 (2)

I recently accepted Listerine’s challenge along with celebrity Drew Arellano, other dentists and fellow bloggers :)

The first step to our challenge is to have initial dental check-up and see what’s happenin’

Makati City-20110528-00141 Makati City-20110528-00137

*at Villareal clinic at St. Luke’s The Fort – nice Hospital!

Makati City-20110528-00142 Makati City-20110528-00145

look at me, looking nervous lol

This is their plaque index and gingival bleeding index.  The closer to zero, the better the condition of your teeth and gums!

Makati City-20110528-00155 Makati City-20110528-00154

My results weren’t bad, and mostly I got 0,1 & 2s… but I also got a few 3s.. which is alarming to me!  I brush my teeth twice or three times a day, what’s wrong?

I was so surprised that I have tiny cavities growing again!  And I was puzzled because every time I look at my teeth in the mirror, I see none of those ugly black things! They’re so sneaky!  They are hiding! I need to get this fixed soon and this should be a quick fix.  In the mean time, I want to change for the long term and follow proper oral care.  These cavities were born because I wasn’t able to clean my entire teeth well.  The doctor said, most of them growing are at the side of my teeth (remember my crowded mouth?) or at the back where it’s hard to reach!

It’s time to battle bacteria, plaque, tartar and many other oral problems and I’m glad I am taking this challenge!

Listerine-6-Six-Week-Challenge-Mouthwash-a-Healthy-6 (2)

and here it is, our kit for 6 weeks! and I’m up for the challenge :)

Listerine Total Care has 6 Essential Benefits.

1.  Breaks through plaque – contains Zinc chloride which decreases plaque formation by up to 56%.

2.  Keeps teeth white – Teeth becomes dark due to tartar formation caused by plaque.

3. Kills 99% of Germs – keeps mouth free of germs and prevent bad breath.  Foul odor is caused by the release of compound formed by bacteria.

4.  Gives 24 hour fresh breath

5. Helps keep teeth strong – helps prevent cavities by strengthening teeth surfaces.

6. Maintains healthy gums – rinsing twice a day efectively decreases gingivitis (inflammation of gums).

* I need all of the above and I will test if indeed I will experience all of these benefits!

We will be doing more tests :P  and I will my update my blog and let  you know what happens. and hey, maybe you can do your own challenge too!  I will have a contest for you soon so do watch out for that 😛

Jeepney + FX

Jeepney + FX

What happens when you combine Jeepney and FX?  Are they going to crash and hit each other?

Well, you will be surprised!

On the next Coca-Cola music studio mash-up you would get to witness Yeng Constantino and Pedicab on a mash-up together!  Combining Yeng’s song “Love story sa Jeepney” and Pedicab’s “FX”

Group 2

There’s too much mention on our local automobiles but I think they are destined to be sung together!

I bet everyone can relate to both songs as I know a lot of you guys commute or at least have tried one way or another!  Sometimes you can’t help but notice some cute guy or girl with you on your ride and you’ve got that excuse to talk to him or her saying “paabot ng bayad ko”. 😛  And who couldn’t relate to the FX ride.. sometimes it could be scary and uncomfortable but at times you’d get to be randomly seated next to strangers!

Oh well, I haven’t been commuting the Metro for a while (shout out to my mom for giving me a car! :), but I once commuted a lot when I was still working for a bank.

Anyway, happy commuting you guys and don’t let the Manila traffic get to you. 😛 Hopefully you can also hear the Jeepney and FX mash-up on the radio!  But, I am not so sure about that because the last time I heard, you will only hear it exclusively on Coca-Cola Music Studio!

Yeng Constantino 1 Sponge Cola 2

Yeng btw is looking good on her music video!  Shout-out to my friend Karen, Em and Rain who styles Yeng!

Anyway, here are short-cut links to the episodes of Coca-Cola Music studio:

Testing Smart LTE Broadband in Boracay

Testing Smart LTE Broadband in Boracay

If you have been following me on Twitter and Facebook, you will see photos of me testing Smart LTE over the weekend!

Another great weekend in Boracay with a super fast broadband!  I didn’t mind staying in my hotel room longer than my usual trips.  I was uploading photos and videos for Tek Tok TV using the Smart LTE Dongle that was loaned to us for testing.

I don’t mind this being my workstation for a day :)

Unfortunately, this amazing technology is super new that it is just up for testing in Boracay (and other urban areas) for now…  But LTE Technology has already been widely used in US and Japan.  I am so happy that the Philippines will soon have this technology!  To bloggers, social media freaks and people who rely so much in the internet like me, this is a great news!

Smart Deploys LTE in Boracay

Smart has made its fourth generation (4G) network available in the island of Boracay for initial testing.  Thanks to Smart for bringing us over Boracay over the weekend to be one of the first few people to test this revolutionary technology!  Imagine experiencing blazing fast download speeds up to 70 mbps!  This will allow us to benefit from the wonders of the web even more.  It doesn’t end there, they are actually ready to increase LTE’s throughput up to 100mbps as soon as the market demands for it.

*did the speed test indoors which will give you weaker signal.  but at 25 mbps, it is faster than 99% of PH!

I was testing the Smart LTE dongle indoors and it only gave me 25mbps but I was already WOW-ed by the super fast streaming speed as I was watching HD Videos over the internet.  It didn’t take us quite a while to test the broadband because everything happened so fast, I was running out of videos to watch lol.

We were in Boracay only overnight but we were able to do a lot of things like testing the Smart LTE Broadband, Paraw sunset sailing (was so relaxing!), dine at different restaurants in Boracay, had dessert at Lemon Cafe!  I was also able to swim at our hotel’s pool, upload a video blog of me, sipping some margarita, sipping some Real Coffee in the morning, buying pasalubong :) etc!

*Paraw sailing at sunset!

Bloggers testing the Smart LTE

What exactly is LTE?

Smart has officially introduced Long Term Evolution (LTE) – its latest network technology which promises blazing fast download speeds and incomparable reliability.  LTE is the undisputed future of mobile internet and telephony.  It has been deployed in countries such as Japan (NTT DoCoMo), Norway and Sweden (TeliaSoneria) and is undergoing tests in the United States (Verizon and AT&T).

This technology is now being tested in Boracay! Whee!

LTE is a mobile standard which promises, at present, actual download speeds of up to 70mbps (as proven during its launch in Boracay) or roughly 35 times faster than that of the current 3G standard.  This can also be upgraded to handle speeds of more than 100mbps, making it a true fourth-generation (4G) technology as defined by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

It is really technical, but if you want to distinguish between LTE (4G), 3G, HSPA and WiMax here it is – LTE’s closes competitors HSPA+ and WiMax top out less than 30mbps in actual use according to tests conducted by Smart.  This officially classifies both as 3G technology.

You can use LTE 3 ways:

1.  Wired Modem – this one is as big as my laptop.  It is the least portable of the three mediums you can use LTE.  This should give you the strongest signal up to 70 mbps.

2. Wifi – I wasn’t able to see how it looks but we tested this over dinner at Epic :)  Wifi is attached to the Modem and the speed distributed to the Wifi network.

3. Dongle – this is the most portable of the three!  It will give you up to 30 – 40 mbps!

It of course depends on other factors as well, like your laptop’s capability, how near you are to the tower, the server’s speed and if you are indoors or not. I am not sure if weather is included though 😛

Where to buy Smart LTE?

I have posted updates of my weekend testing trip over Facebook and Twitter and people have been asking me where they can buy this!?!  It is not yet available on all cities but when it does get deployed nationwide, you sure will know first on my blog!

Partying since Two Thousand and Late

Partying since Two Thousand and Late

When people ask for my profession I always say I’m a CPA – Certified Party Animal! 😛

We get a good laugh and then I’d say “I’m kidding, seriously… I’m a licensed CPA” – and they still laugh thinking I’m still joking >.<  Do I really look like a dumb bimbo that no one believes I’m a CPA?

For starters, here’s me in my Oathtaking Ceremony that happened sometime in 2007

Is it an abandoned profession?  I don’t know, who knows… but for now I’m resting my left brain and I’ve been utilizing my right brain with blogging and many other things!  But for now, I’m just your average Certified party animal 😀

My blog has been flooded with party pictures.  It’s just in my system.  I love music, dancing, meeting new people and having a good time with friends.  It’s always fun celebrating

Party Acts of Randomness

#1 I take crappy photos when I’m tipsy.

and it usually happens when I’m taking photos with celebrities like Derek Ramsay and one of the guys of Philippine All Stars @_@

DSC02186_thumb DSC02202_thumb

these pictures were taken at one of the awesome parties I’ve ever attended in Boracay.

#2 I party with celebrities (ehemz ehemz) Perks of blogging and getting invited to special events! 😛

apart from the celebrities I mentioned above,

Partying with Karylle, Yasi Pressman, DJ Tracey of Mellow 94.7

#3 Random after-party Roadtrips

When I’m done partying in the club and I’m still full of energy, I’d kidnap my friends and go on a random roadtrip (usually just up to Tagaytay)

*note don’t drink and drive – have a designated driver <3 and that would be me for our team 😛

and eating bulalo for breakfast… hmmm… they serve Bulalo as early as 6am :)

#4 You will NEVER see me frown when I’m partying!

#5 Partying in Boracay, in different countries

You gotta party when you travel and it’s gotta be a part of your itinerary!  Partying in Hong Kong, Singapore and anywhere else… my ultimate party destination that I want to go to is  – Amsterdam! I’ve heard crazy stuff and I don’t want to miss out on the fun.. For now, let’s save some moolah on my Travel Fund!

#6 House Party in my Hometown – the city of smiles Bacolod!

In my hometown – Bacolod, we love to party by ourselves at our own homes.  I just happened to go home after 3 years!  My bff Andrea came home from New York and I know I have to see my girls again!  I arrived on a Tuesday night and people sleep there early! SWEAR like 9pm, the city is already so quiet!  But, that was the only night that we all can go so we still decided to go out that night!

We hanged out in Bob’s Cafe til midnight, which is the time they close.  After that, we couldn’t find anywhere else to hang out and here goes my random party act #8…

#7 Chillin’ at our local City Hall!

so, we couldn’t find anywhere else to hang out… and some of our guy high school friends invited us to hang out with them!  When they told me they were drinking outside the City Hall I was like – ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!

Apparently, it is one of the safest places to hang out because it is like a public park too and there are guards patrolling the area.  I was like *phew*

It’s rockin’ because our new City Hall was something that they built when I’m already living here in Manila.  When my plane flew above it and took a peak to see the terrain below, I saw this lovely building – beautiful when you look above it because they have a gnarly fountain with well-maintained landscaping.

#8 Best Parties in Boracay

With this I give you the best place to party! You’ve gotta love Boracay parties – hands down… Celebrities get friendlier, everyone is friendly and everyone is just having fun!  Party in the morning and night!

Parties in Boracay starts early and as you can see, me, Jane, Saab and he rest of our friends were sipping some margarita after lunch!

And look!  I am wearing a bikini while eating lunch at Epic!  It is SOOOO HOT in Manila that I want to walk around just wearing a bikini – because it is just so SIZZLING hot!  We all know I can’t do that though, I might go to jail or something.

*swoon* Mark Nelson actually on his way getting some drinks and me getting some booze after he taught me how to Cliff dive <3  Well, –ish … he was giving general tips to everyone who’s cliff diving for the first time.

#8 Drinking the JUDAS!

Judas is not a person, it’s a cocktail drink 😛  This is the cocktail mix that one of our friends “accidentally” created.  I am not sure what kind of drink they were trying to mix originally, but they happened to make this awesome cocktail that tastes just so *tropically* good!  Honestly the best mix I have ever tasted in my life!

And so I asked them what they call the drink – and they call it “the JUDAS”

Why?  As we know, in the bible, Judas is a traitor… That’s what they call the drink too coz no matter how much rum they put, you can’t taste it much.  But of course, you’d get that hint of alcohol.  It was lots of fun catching up to what my high school friends have been up to and reminiscing high school memories!

#10 Concocting my very own “Tropical Judas”

It is actually derived from my friend’s own mix, but I gave it my own tropical flavor!  See the best parties for me happen in Boracay and at home just chillin’  With this in mind, I bring you – the Tropical JUDAS!

Tropical Judas Recipe

Orange juice powder

Mango juice powder

– mix the orange juice and the mango juice powders with water to make a juice

– add coke to spice the spirits of your “Judas”

– and of course, instead of just using your ordinary Rum, use white rum – Boracay Rum in Coconut flavor!  The coconut completes our tropical concoction to life!

GEDC0097 GEDC0128

*I used the powder with Pulp, but if you can use ordinary juice powders or even real fruit juices if you what – whatever tickles your pickle!

GEDC0001 GEDC0153

Like I said, the pulp makes it look messy but it’s up to you – just as long as you get that kick of Orange and Mango.  Put more mango if you can.

and there you go – Tropical JUDAS in d’ houz! Giving you a sip of Boracay at home <3

And oh, you can actually get a chance to win a trip to Boracay and capture the whole island experience!  Just check out more detailed info on Nuffnang’s official website:

Do you have some random party stories and facts for yourself too?  Or, do you have your own favorite home-made cocktail mix?

Share! Share! Share!

For A Cool Shirt, Stick with Classic Icons

Posted by on May 22, 2011 in Career, Fashion

For A Cool Shirt, Stick with Classic Icons

Novelty shirts are a bona fide mainstay in the “light-hearted options for fewer than 20 bucks” category of gifts. But the overarching category of “novelty, or “cool” (interchangeable) is not itself always a safe bet when choosing the right fit. They come in all sorts of varieties with all sorts of pop culture references (the one unifying factor in all such shirts is the graphical and/or textual shout-out to a facet of popular culture.) Anything from cereal mascots to ancient political campaign slogans can make their way onto a graphic T.

So choosing the right one for a nephew or a brother or a friend can be difficult because you want to make sure it’s not only the right size, but something they’d feel proud to brandish. You can count on the truth being that if they don’t like what’s on the shirt the only time they’re going to wear it is when they hang out with you. This is why I suggest vintage t shirts as the particular novelty shirt you should be browsing when picking one otherwise randomly. There are many reasons why but mostly because vintage t-shirts fall into a relatively safe category where they can either be cherished as beacons of a long lost entity of childhood ñ to an adult wearer, or a hip throwback to a time when things were simpler and less fake ñ to a teenager or young adult.

Other reasons include the decreased likelihood that what you’re going to pick is offensive or otherwise off-putting. A classic movie graphic or a corny pun about a forgotten personality or cherished character is far less likely to incite a confused response or never get worn in the first place. Even if you’re not a fan of history, history that can be brought to life even if it’s just a silly pop culture reference animates an inherent desire in us all to carry on traditions. Young and old t-shirt wearers are going to love to be able to “represent” a retro concept, for their own individual reasons but also because we simply like to keep those kinds of fires burning in the human timeline.

If you’ve settled on getting a friend or loved one a cool shirt but haven’t decided on what kind of cool shirt, I highly recommend vintage styles. They’re safe and always entertaining. Most importantly, they’ll actually get worn!

So Easy Life Camp – Colon Cleansing and a Healthier Digestive Track

So Easy Life Camp – Colon Cleansing and a Healthier Digestive Track

You are what’s inside you… Therefore, we need to be beautiful inside and out.  In this case, whatever your body feels in the inside reflects to your physical appearance as well.  The colon has been one of the organs taken for granted by people and we know for a fact that we need to take care not only of it but of our entire body as well.  Health is wealth and it feels great to be healthy and well!

I got invited to witness the So Easy Life Camp sponsored by Easy-Phamax.  They are the same company making your healthy wheatgrass drinks.  I have been promoting the good life to everyone and that includes a lot of things like following your dreams, staying positive, being active in sports and being healthy and well!

I was with Cheryl at that time and we were greeted by these positive signs :)

“Moving the body and massaging the abdomen will improve bowel function.”
That’s a fitness and colon-cleansing tip from actress and health buff Jackielou Blanco.

This and other health guidelines on reducing the risk of getting cancer are among the topics discussed at the So Easy Life Camp on April 30 at Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City.  The attendance to the half-day Life Camp was free. :)

*Life Campers ready to battle toxic substances and flush them out of their system!

Jackielou and two other international experts on weight loss and colon cleansing gavefree fitness sessions and consultations on the proper colon cleansing program for maximum effect, losing weight in three days, controlling food cravings.

One of the speakers, US-registered nutritionist and weight management expert Cheshire Que shared how every Filipino can practice self-discipline by eating less than one’s usual food intake and eventually get used to the feeling and habit of healthy eating.

Malaysia-registered dietitian and nutritionist Penny Chong returned once more to Manila to talk about the importance of a regular colon-cleansing, how and why a dirty colon leads to other life-threatening diseases. Ms. Chong travels around the world for her advocacy on colon cleansing.

GEDC0012 Easy_PhaMax_Life_Camp1

Registered nurses gave participants free wellness checks on their blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat, visceral (stomach) fat, metabolic age.

That’s my blood sugar level 😛 81 meaning normal *phew* relief!

and the other picture was of me and the nurse trying to prick my finger with a stapler-like looking device.

… and you know how scared I get when I am confronted with these things!

I wasn’t able to finish the seminar because I had to leave for a very important photo shoot and therefore missed the discussions.  If you want to know more, read through When In Manila’s detailed and illustrative blog post about what kind of toxins you flush down your toilet bowl.

The seminar was sponsored by Easy Pha-max Phils. Inc, the country’s leading distributor of wheatgrass-based health products, which includes So Easy Colon Cleanse – the only product that has oil palm fiber that lubricates the linings of the intestines and flushes out hardened body waste from the colon.

*If you are interested to join the So Easy Life Camp on their next camping session, just visit their official website to get the latest updates on schedules for this.  You can also buy the kit and do it on your own – but doing it with other campers and camp directors during any So Easy Life Camp will be better because you would be properly guided.

Most Memorable Dim Sum Lunch at Crystal Lotus Hong Kong Disneyland

Most Memorable Dim Sum Lunch at Crystal Lotus Hong Kong Disneyland

Before I start the post, here’s a flower to all of my readers :)

Hong Kong Disneyland 2011 Lumix 017

Flowers are everywhere and I can’t help but take snapshots of it!

Before anything else, I just want to say that writing this blog post is such a torture.  It kept on getting me hungry just by viewing these photos again.

When Vince and I traveled to Hong Kong again, we decided to focus our stay on Disneyland for 3 days, stay in Disneyland Hotel and enjoy, relax and be kids again.  Well, we are kids at heart anyway :)

We left Manila at around 9am and arrived in Hong Kong at 11am.  We flew via Cebu Pacific and slept throughout the trip.  I remembered both of us did not get any much sleep at all, thus we were so excited for our vacation!  Since Disneyland Hotel is very near the airport, we decided to just cab it.  It cost us around HKD 120.  At the airport, take the Red colored cab.

You can go around the Disneyland compounds via Bus.  This will take you to Disneyland Hotel, Hollywood Hotel and the Disneyland Train Station where the park also is.

There’s free Wifi in the lobby!  Although sometimes it can reach the room.  But if you ask for net connection in the room, you need to pay.

Lunch at Crystal Lotus

I had the most memorable lunch in my life!  We had lunch at Crystal Lotus.  It can be found on the Ground floor of Disneyland Hotel.  I very much enjoyed lunch here.  It is known for its creative dimsum recipes.  I have never experienced anything like this!  I was so happy that I almost forgot that I’m a blogger and I almost ate my food without taking photos!

Crystal Lotus is an award-winning restaurant that offers outstanding cuisine from four major culinary regions of China: Sichuan, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.  What we had for lunch is a specially created Disney Dim Sum!  So, if ever you’re around, you can ask for Disney Dim Sum set.  They are only open on Weekends and Special Holidays though so make some inquiries before you book for lunch or dinner.

Sony Cybershot Luxe Wear Collection Philippine Fashion Week 2011

Sony Cybershot Luxe Wear Collection Philippine Fashion Week 2011

This one is a quickie.  It was a very hectic week for me as I had to juggle work, shoots, pole dancing and the grand Philippine Fashion Week 2011.  I wasn’t able to go to everything but I knew I had to go to Sony Cybershot and Vaio fashion shows because they will be featuring a lot of local designers!

Thank you to the Sony team for giving me a seat up front <3  It was hard or me to take photos while I watch the models walk by me.  So I took just a few photos so that I can enjoy the fashion show :)  Here it is:

Get the flash player here: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer

Cyber-shot Presents the Luxe Wear Collection at the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011

Beyond capturing trends, Sony Cyber-shot is defining them.

DSC-T110 (2)

In partnership with Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011, Sony Cyber-shot is presenting the new collections of emerging trend-setters Benjie Manuel, Delby Bragais, Edwin Uy, Jay Sustiguer, John Guarnes, Julius Tarog, Kat Corpus, Melvin Lachica, Nicky Martinez, Nolie Vineza, Roel Rosal, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Santi Obscena, Simon Ariel Vasquez, and Tina Daniac.

The designers showcased new creations drawing from the inspiration of two sleek new Cyber-shot models – the Cyber-shot TX10 and the Cyber-shot T110.

With the Cyber-shot’s clean lines, beautiful craftsmanship, and advanced technology, these digital cameras are positioned to become the next evening bags – glamorous but absolutely functional pieces that complement and enhance outfit while still helping women get through their various activities, from morning until evening, in style.

Travel the world’s fashion capitals with Cyber-shot TX10

Where conversation piece meets workhorse is the 16.2MP Cyber-shot TX10. Waterproof in up to 16 feet / 5 metres of water for an hour and shockproof up to 1.5 metres, the TX10 lets you take high-quality photos, including panoramic pictures, and Full HD 1080i videos of friends, family or pets underwater. Its resilience in different environments and temperatures make it an ideal accessory, whether one is enjoying a tropical cruise this summer or globe-trotting through different fashion districts. Not only is the camera good to go in chilly weather, but the sleek TX10 is durable enough to withstand an accidental drop from up to approximately 1.5 metres.

DSC-TX10 (8) DSC-TX10 (9)

Debuting on the Cyber-shot TX10 is the 3D Still mode, which captures two consecutive shots in different focus positions to calculate the depths and then it creates left-eye and right-eye images to produce a 3D effect. It still carries the 3D Sweep Panorama feature that Sony introduced in the NEX-5 – with a simple one press-and-sweep motion, numerous, high-speed burst of frames are stitched together to create a detailed-pack panoramic 3D image.

Life’s a party with Cyber-shot T110

DSC-T110 (5) DSC-T110 (7)

The Cyber-shot T110 is a 16.1-megapixel ultra slim yet powerful camera with a wide 3.0” touch screen that makes it easy to compose and review shots, navigate menus and optimize focus. With 1920 x 1080 60p progressive Full HD video capability, it allows you to capture stunning, fast-motion video smoother playback when shooting your active summer parties and events.  It takes the guesswork out snapping great photos with features like iAuto and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization.

Sony in Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011

Transcending and trend-setting – these are the unique propositions offered by Sony for both the realms of fashion and technology.  As it presents its new products in the brand new season of Philippine Fashion Week, Sony continues to push the envelope for looking good and performing well.

The Coca-Cola Music Studio for Pinoy Music Pride

Music makes me happy and it is definitely a big part of our lives as I myself can’t imagine a day without music! Even when I’m down, I would always find comfort in music.  When I’m happy, I’d love to dance with it!  And when I’m hyper – I sing to it!  You will often find me featuring different songs and artists on my blog from international artists, decoding lyrics to featuring our own local flavor as well.  I also appeared in the new music video of April Boy Regino and his son JC Regino (ehemz ehemz link here).  I was also a part of the first music video of independent solo artist Chris Masami.

Coca-Cola Music Studio

Coke Studio (2)

If you love music like me, here’s some good news for the local music industry!  Coca-Cola just launched their “Coca-Cola Music Studio” website where you can witness the country’s top musicians from different genres come together to deliver fresh Pinoy sound with every session.  It’s their way of connecting to pinoy teens (teens like me :P) who are deeply passionate about music!

It’s always fun to hear local pinoy music on bars.  I have my own list of favorite local artists but  8 of them will actually be featured on MYX every 5:30 – 6:30 pm on Sundays with replays at 7:30 – 8:00 pm every Tuesday.  The MYX TV episode is called the Coca-Cola Music studio where you will find your local favorite artists perform and whose songs will be mashed up for the very first time!

Take note that the website will post the different episodes that aired on MYX but will also have EXCLUSIVE content only uploaded on the website.

Join the fun and open happiness by visiting their site http://musicstudio.coca-cola.com.ph

Sizzling Summer Soundtrack Contest

Win this awesome gadget!!!

We actually guested Divoom speakers on Tek Tok TV just recently and they are giving these away!

  Black_Open Black_Open_2

Win this iTour Ozzo by putting together your getaway soundtrack!

Here’s how you do it:

1) Create a summer mixtape. Minimum of 3 songs, maximum of 5.
2) Upload it somewhere (we recommend Mediafire/blip.tv)
3) Post the link on the Divoom FB page (facebook.com/DivoomPH), and then we’ll have people listen and vote for it.
4) Most number of votes by May 10, 2011 wins
5) Winner gets an iTour Ozzo

Scorching heat aside, everybody looks forward to the summer. Whether it is to frolic by the beach or get some cool, fresh air up in the highlands – a summer getaway is a must-have for the weary city slicker.

And of course, no getaway is complete without a soundtrack to make it more memorable. From trippy reggae tunes to chillout lounge tracks, there will always be songs that will set the mood for every adventure.

Divoom – bringer of portable audio speakers for the increasingly mobile consumer – wants you to share your summer playlist! Get a chance to win the iTour Ozzo by putting together your getaway soundtrack – with a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of five (5) songs.

It’s very simple, really. Open a hosting account (we recommend Mediafire and/or Blip.Tv), upload your songs of choice, and post the link to them on the Divoom (Philippines) Facebook page with your name and mix title. If you could write a couple of lines detailing the choice of songs and your most memorable summer adventure, all the better! The Divoom team will compile all of them so that people could play (and like!) your playlist. The most likes by Tuesday, May 10 will win the iTour Ozzo.

So scan your music library, pick your summer anthems, and rock us all with your playlists!

Divoom is available at most Apple Premium and Authorized Resellers and selected gadgets and mobile accessories stores. Visit www.facebook.com/DivoomPH for the complete listing and follow @DivoomPH on Twitter for more updates.

Surfing Photography Tips

Surfing Photography Tips

Surfing is definitely one of the sports that is fun to capture. Every photo you take has something to do with how the waves form, how your subject performs his tricks and of course – luck and timing! After you get a really good capture, it’s all worth it! Show your subject your gnarly photo of him and he will appreciate it. I’m a surfer too and I know how it feels when someone captures a great photo of me surfing and that doesn’t happen often.

Here are some important tips you need to know when you want to take surfing photos.

1. Wipe-out shots look cool!
I’m not going to hold back this trick that I realized by myself when I was taking surfing photos. This is no secret, but many fail to realize how awesome the shot is – when your target gets wiped out! Most surf photographers focus on “capturing the moment” but this is just basically “luck” and timing! Patience is a virtue indeed – and just keep on shooting.

This is actually a wipe-out shot.  It’s me and I’m about to fall in .01 seconds

Looks cool though!

2. Try shooting on water.
When you do, make sure your camera is either water-proof or has a secure camera casing. Taking shots while you’re on water gives a more real photo with splashes of water here and there and you get to capture your subject in different angles – up front, sideways while the wave is making a barrel, underwater and many other angles!

Just be sure to hold the camera still. Switch to video mode at times – just in case!

3. Light is your best friend.
This is important when you are shooting by the shore. The best light usually happens early morning. Sunset shots usually just give you silhouettes and unless you are taking an “artistic” surf shot, try to avoid taking photos at this time and maybe, enjoy the time to surf yourself!

This was taken at noon.  And you think the lighting is best at this time, well – it is not! Notice the shadows that cover the surfer’s face and body.

4. Zoom lens!
Zoom lens is important if you are taking shots from the shore. You need at least a 200mm lens or an 8x zoom digital camera, or higher.

5. Be patient and alert.
Get ready to take photos when you see your subject paddling and getting a wave. Try to put your settings to “burst” mode so that you can capture every move without missing any happening! Remember to take even the wipe-out shots!

6. Move!
Don’t just shoot from one angle. Try to find the spot with the best light, but also move around and try taking photos on different sites.

7. Respect.
Don’t publish unflattering photos like nipple slips or a really ugly facial expression or an awkward wipe-out position. This is very unprofessional.

Best of all, have fun taking photos! If you want to make this a career, enroll in a photography class in your local area. But if you just want to have fun and try this, just remember the tips above and have fun shooting!

Hygiene Freak!

Hygiene Freak!

GERMS are everywhere!  I watched this episode in one of the Discovery Channel shows that was all about germs – telephone, computer keyboards, ATMs, food trays in food courts, elevator buttons are just filled with billions and gazillions of germs!

This is my daily life.  In front of a PC tinkering on the keyboard everyday.

Zoom in – to find very dirty keyboard in macro

Picture 029

and, I eat while I work!

image from Google images

Good thing I have a healthy supply of Hygienix!

I bring one in my bag (it’s so handy)

and I have another one I just leave on my car because I am always on the go and hand sanitizer is always handy on a road trip!

and I also have another one at home just because, I blog and eat at the same time (keyboard very dirty)

also, we have house pets that can also carry germs or bacteria with them

Don’t worry, the bunny is not dead, he’s just a deep sleeper like that Smile with tongue out

Hygienix is Love

What I love about Hygienix is that it kills 99.99% of germs but it doesn’t dry your hand.  I’m always iffy of just using plain alcohol because it dries up my skin Sad smile Thankfully, Hygienix keeps the hands soft and moisturized and the bottle is designed to be very handy and convenient that you can just easily put it in your travel bag or your ordinary day kit.

It smells good too and it doesn’t irritate my nose.

I bring one wherever I go Smile
I’m always on the go and sometimes I can’t predict where I’m headed.

Like one time, I went Longboarding in High Street…

so much germs and dirt @_@

and we decided to eat at Ristra’s

yummy but messy burrito,

and, if you’re like me who loves licking accidentally smudged sauce on your fingers, thou shall clean thy hands before eating!

I am not really a germ freak.  I don’t wash my hands every 5 seconds, I don’t wipe all of my stuff everyday, I don’t frequently clean my keyboard etc., but I am very keen on hygiene at least.  I clean my hands before I eat or every time I put or remove my contact lenses, I brush my teeth, I clean my makeup brushes and I always bring a hand sanitizer when I travel.

Remember the time when the Swine Flu became rampant and hit Hong Kong first in Asia?

Well, I was traveling at that time!

You can’t risk getting sick while you’re having a good time exploring a foreign place!

Hand sanitizers like Hygienix is really a must when you are traveling!

you never know what unique germs you will bring home >.<

What Germs can do

*illustration from sdhidaho.org

Keep a happy life by staying hygienic yeah?

Hygienix everyday, keeps the germs away!

so remember guys,
