When in Dagupan, you must visit the origins of Plato Wraps!

We know that Plato Wraps here in Manila are just food carts, but you should visit the place that started it all.

Plato Wraps started humbly at a local bakeshop in the lovely province in Dagupan.  The owners wanted to create something unique out of their breads and had this brilliant idea of wrapping things!

It’s a great concept especially that people here in Manila are always in a rush!  People almost do everything at the same time including walking and eating!  Or eating while working in their workstations!

I always pass by Pangasinan especially when I go surfing in La Union, but I never dropped by to stay.  Recently, I had a talk with 300 ++ students of Lyceum Northwestern University together with other bloggers.

And When In Dagupan, you never should miss out on any food!  It’s the land of Bangus (milk fish) and bagoong – my favorite!

Plato Wraps Dagupan

In Dagupan, Plato Wraps has the only branch with a full restaurant.  The Wrapped food that you love is also available inside!

Dagupan, Lingayen Pangasinan

First, I tasted the Kare-Kare.  I love Kare-Kare! And what made theirs special is the bagoong that came with it.

The bagoong of Dagupan looks pale pink and you really can see the tiny shrips that composes it.  Unlike here in Manila, our bagoong looks black @_@

Next is daing na bangus! Boneless Milk Fish!

This was my order and I really enjoyed this dish!  I rarely eat fish in Manila because I never have tasted anything as tasty and fresh as the one I usually eat in our province in Bacolod.

But since Pangasinan is also near the sea, and milk fish is their main product – then it’s safe to say that the fishes here are fresh!

AND BIG!

I think this is grilled chicken.  I wasn’t able to try it though but it looks healthy!

Dori Fish Fillet.

This was ordered by a local of Dagupan.  He might have had enough of bangus so he ordered this instead :)

I am a sucker for our local tablea (chocolate)

I know the perfect match for my meal would be some soda or juice… but, I just have to order this when I see one in the menu!

It didn’t disappoint me and it tasted just like my grandmother’s hot chocolate when she used to prepare for us.

Sinful fried chicken skin!

But my rule when I’m on vacation is – no diet!!!

and this is me enjoying my Plato wraps!

ordered ham and cheese which is my favorite!

Creamy cheese and meat wrapped inside a pita-like bread

It’s best when it’s hot!

My favorite part is actually the bread – and since they started out in a bakeshop, I guess I know what they’re doing!

One order is enough to fill my hungry tummy!

A great choice for people who are always on the go!  Get your energy from something delicious and portable as this when in the Metro.

But When In Dagupan, you definitely have to visit Plato Wraps for an extended menu for your dining pleasure!

Plus! They also have a bakeshop and pastries beside the restaurant where you can buy pasalubong!  A cinamon roll of 9 pieces was so affordable at less than 100, and their whole egg pie was only P180.

I couldn’t resist not buying it because it smelled good, it looked good and it really is affordable.
