Back to Black

Since someone noticed already, yes.  I dyed my hair black (blacker than my original hair which is brown).

Sooooo… I still like my light colored hair.  But, I thought it’s time to change a bit.  I was supposed to have my bangs trimmed but I didn’t have enough time to stay in the Salon.

That’s me at Vivere Salon, thank you for taking care of my hair!

hmmm… I don’t know.  Now that it’s black, I want to change it again to something light @___@

What do you think?

Panagbenga Flower Festival Baguio City

I’m in Baguio for work and what a fun work it is, I get to cover festivals and fun happnenings!  It has been a while since I’ve been to Baguio and it was my first time to witness the Panagbenga festival.

My last trip to Baguio was for Vaseline Road Trip.  Check out my blog then, we did so much in one day!

Anyway, here’s our float for TV5!

TV5 Float with hosts of Good Morning Club and Game N' Go

I loooooove our float! It has 10 flower variations and 2,000 bundles of flowers! Simple but more! Anyway, we started to prepare as early as 5am, unlike the Masskara Festival that starts in the after and culminates in the Plaza in the evening.  The flower parade started at 8am.

Tretorn Nylite and Panagbenga Baguio Flower Festival

Ohai from Baguio City! I packed for a 20 degree weather. But it plunged down to 14 degrees! I am so not prepared for the cold.

This is a working trip and I’ll be covering Panagbena, Baguio’s flower festival, for my network :) I’m so excited, but it means there will

be a lot of walking around the hilly parts of Baguio so I brought my Tretorn Nylites. Comfortable closed shoes.

Cute Dogs in Hong Kong
Hong Kong CNY 2012 Day 2

Hong Kong CNY 2012 Day 2,
originally uploaded by Flair Candy.

I recently stayed around Happy Valley area of Hong Kong. It’s quiet and relaxed in the area, but it’s not that far away from the bustling city! Plus, I get to walk only 3 minutes to the tram station.

One thing I noticed when I was walking around the area was that there were a lot of CUTE dogs from breeds I’ve never seen in person! From small, big – to BIG BIG!

It’s nice walking around in Hong Kong during winter. Temperatures drop at 9 degrees and my cheeks flush naturally, my blood cells race to my skin as they try to warm it 😛

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown Now in Manila

oh the joys of being a kid again.

We asked the actors about their journey to being a kid again and they all drew inspiration from real children. They observed children and even some people and matched it with the different characters they portray.

In my opinion, the actors did a good job of portraying their different characters. It was amazing how they had to imagine some of their props and act it out nicely to the point that the audience’s imagination fills in the blanks.

Great skills I say, how they all collectively portrayed Charles M. Schultz’s characters from Peanuts. You have to watch it with your friends and family :)

Ticket prices range from only P700 – P1500 – affordable for everyone to see! You can reserve Charlie Brown tickets and view schedule here. It’s showing only until March 3 so set your schedule ahead!

Give Me a Pen and Paper and I Might Just Write a Love Song

Give Me a Pen and Paper and I Might Just Write a Love Song

I wrote love songs and poems before.  But I never kept them.  It was just me expressing myself sometimes.  Sometimes when I encounter a piece of paper folded inside an old Algebra book I feel like I found treasure.  I would read the words on that paper, it would seem familiar – but not quite.  I don’t recognize the words, but I recognize the handwriting – it’s mine.

Then I am amazed at the things I can write sometimes.  I never thought I could write those.

And so I heard Adele won a lot of major awards from the Grammy’s and that all happened because she got broken hearted.  Amazing, what love can do.

Give me a pen and paper and I might just write a love song.

UPDATE at 10:15…

After I wrote this blog entry, I attempted to write a song. And hey, I wrote this in 3-5 mins. No edits coz I don’t like editing.

Valentine’s Day: Flowers and Fuerza Bruta

Valentine’s Day: Flowers and Fuerza Bruta

Wow, Valentine’s Day was very tiring for me! It started out with me and my teammates personally delivering flowers to random people on Twitter.

This is me waiting for our deliverees 😛

Then, I braved the traffic and rushed to Manila Hotel Tent to watch the premiere of Fuerza Bruta! It was packed with celebrities, artists and people who celebrated Valentine’s day in a unique way.

Unique is an understatement! Fuerza Bruta was beyond that! I felt so involved with their performance! I don’t really know if I can describe what I’ve experienced in words but it’s like this: it’s like an interactive club. It’s not like theater. There weren’t any chairs and you move around a huge space to experience the show. The stage keeps moving and there’s even a stage just right above you!

People dancing above you!

I must say, I was high with endorphin during the show. The dancers are from Argentina I believe (not sure) and we couldn’t understand them, and they couldn’t understand us either. It seemed like they turned Anger into ART – something fun and playful!

…at Fuerza Bruta!

It was something I have never experienced before. I will blog more details but I don’t want to post a lot of pictures about it because I want you to experience it for yourselves!

At the end of the very busy day, all my tiredness went away because of this:

He knows how much I love flowers!
Thank you :) You know who you are <3

President for Happiness of Coca-Cola’s first decree: Free Flowing Happiness

President for Happiness of Coca-Cola’s first decree: Free Flowing Happiness

Since Coca-Cola is celebrating its 100 years, they appointed a President for Happiness!

It is non other than fun and quirky – Caloy!  His task is to give Happiness to Filipinos!  Tough job? Maybe, but bringing happiness to a whole lot of people is very rewarding.

With this he declared his first decree: Free flowing happiness to Filipinos!  To serve Happiness by giving away FREE COKE throughout the Philippines!

Free Coke at 7/11

SPOTTED:  Free Coke banners along 7/11 branches inviting everyone to go inside and grab their FREE COKE!

Last Saturday, February 4, I was driving along that road from Pandacan to Kalentong when I spotted a noticeable red banner up at 7/11 and the words said “Claim your free Coca-Cola” so I dropped by to get my own drink!  I was parched because it was very hot at that time and I was working on a weekend!  I actually worked ’til 10 pm.  I would naturally complain but hey, the Free Coke made me smile :)

That made me happy, I mean c’mon it’s rare to get things for Free!

What could he be up to next?  Do you have suggestions?

Do you want share the happiness?

Check out Caloy’s Facebook and Twitter below and find out what he’s up to!

The Importance of Moisturizing

The Importance of Moisturizing

I was reading articles on dove.ph when I encountered an article about moisturization.  It reminded me of an instance where I was having my facial and my therapist asked my age.  I don’t lie about my age, I’m proud of speaking out loud the many years of experience I already had.  “26 ka na pala maam?  Akala ko 20 ka palang kasi walang may namumuong wrinkles sa face mo.” (You’re already 26?  I thought you’re only 20 ‘coz your skin has no traces of wrinkles forming).

I smiled.  Then again, I have my mom to be thankful for.

I learned from her mistakes before of not being able to moisturize her skin well.  My mom is pretty and she still looks like she’s my sister and not my mother so I guess I’d have to thank her genes as well.  But as I was growing up, she always emphasized the importance of moisture.

P1100903.JPG

She wanted me to join beauty contests when I was a kid.  Her ultimate dream for me is to join the Miss Universe pageant.  Unfortunately for her, I only grew to a height of 4’11” tops.  Sometimes I round it of to 5’ Smile with tongue out  But still, she wanted me to be always presentable and pretty thus she pressured me on having a bathroom routine: wash, toner, moisturizer.  I was so lazy to take care of myself though.  I hated putting lotion because they’re sticky and grooming myself takes time.  Only when I’m growing up did I realize why she always push me to put moisturizers, sunblock and the many things to protect my skin.

Truly, our skin is our first protection against external factors, and it as also the first thing people get to notice when you meet them.

this is me at EPIC Boracay, without make up or Photoshop Smile

I like looking fresh and natural so I prefer keeping a dewy, hydrated complexion rather than Matte and super polish.  I like seeing my face dewy and not oily.  Just that young glow that subtracts a few years down my age.

If you want to know more about proper moisture, you can check out Dove.ph’s tips.  It’s pretty helpful and it’s never too late to start now! Smile

They also have a lot of beauty and health articles that are very interesting and can apply to everyone.

Nandito Ako: David Archuleta, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero Soon on TV5

Nandito Ako: David Archuleta, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero Soon on TV5

In the tradition of producing high quality mini-seryes, TV5 brings another highly anticipated primetime program, Nandito Ako, starring international Kapatid star David Archuleta alongside the network’s home-grown princesses Jasmine Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero. Helmed by popular director Mac Alejandre, the series about young love will premiere this February 20 (Monday) on TV5 primetime.

After the critically-acclaimed Sa Ngalan ng Ina (topbilled by the one and only Superstar, Ms. Nora Aunor) paved the way for the mini-serye format in Philippine television, the Kapatid Network embarks on another series that will capture the interest of younger viewers and the whole family alike. Apart from the three lead stars, the series is also a collaboration of some of the biggest names in the industry, including Gelli de Belen, Aiko Melendez, and comeback actress, G Tongi. G Tongi admits that it was the offer to do Nandito Ako which prompted her to return to the Philippines after settling down in the United States a few years back.

As the American Idol Season 7 runner-up who became an international singing sensation, David Archuleta has earned an even stronger following both here and abroad when the TV5 released the teaser of his rendition of the Nandito Ako’s theme song of the same title, composed by Aaron Paul del Rosario and popularized by Ogie Alcasid and Lea Salonga.

As evidenced by the rave reception on the series’ characters both online (frequently landing on Twitter Philippines trending topics) and offline (high crowd attendance in mall shows), Nandito Ako is poised to be another top-rating show of TV5.

Nandito Ako will tell the story of young love, its joys and pains, among Josh (David Archuleta), Holly (Eula Caballero) and Anya (Jasmine Curtis Smith). Josh is an international singer who holds his final leg of concerts in the Philippines. This venture is also a quest to find his real identity, a thing that has been hidden from for a long time. He will meet Holly through one of the promotional activities of his concert. The innocent hearts will brew romance and will soon learn the ways of love. But love has its twists and turns and they’ll soon uncover realities that will change their hearts and minds. Anya, a boyish and carefree lass, is Holly’s bestfriend. With a twist of fate, will Josh fall for Anya instead?

Completing the cast of Nandito Ako are Alwyn Uytingco, Ana Capri, Mon Confiado, Ana Feleo, Joseph Bitangcol, RS Francisco, David Bianco, Byron Ortile, and Ms. Perla Bautista.

Don’t miss the premiere episode of Nandito Ako starring David Archuleta, Jasmine Curstis-Smith and Eula Caballero starting Monday (February 20) after Wil Time Bigtime on TV5.
