[press release]
Mobile phone leader Smart Communications is now offering on pre-order online the Samsung Galaxy S3, which has been billed by tech critics as the one of most exciting smartphones ever.

Free on Smart’s Unlimited Data Plan 2000, the Galaxy S3 is equipped with a “super-fast” quad-core 1.4GHz  processor (versus dual-core processors of other top-shelf smartphones) and a 4.8-inch high definition AMOLED screen, giving it both leading-edge processing power and large, dazzling display.

The Galaxy S3 runs on the latest version of the Android operating system (version 4 “Ice Cream Sandwich”) which makes it capable of running any of the 500,000 apps on the Google Play online store.

It also has an micro-SD slot that can provide expandable storage up to 64 GB and 8-MB camera  that features touch-to-focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, burst photography with best photo selection and share with friends via face recognition.  “We are very excited to have the Samsung Galaxy S3 on board, demonstrating once more that Smart continues to offer Filipinos the best selection of Android-powered  smartphones in the country,” said Smart Broadband Internet and Data Services Head Lloyd Manaloto.

“This powerful new smartphone works best with coupled with the most powerful mobile phone network in the Philippines,” he added.  With the country’s most extensive fourth-generation (4G) High Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) network, Smart is the only Philippine operator that is capable of letting this super smartphone live up to its full potential, Manaloto said.To date, Smart has installed HSPA+ coverage in the major cities and municipalities of the country, enabling subscribers to enjoy high speed mobile Internet access of up to 21Mbps.

“The Samsung Galaxy S3’s combination of unmatched processing power, large hi-def display and huge expandable storage makes it ideal for handling large-bandwidth apps like HD video which are gaining in popularity,” Manaloto explained.

“Downloading HD video or using HD apps also requires a network that can carry that kind of traffic well.  That’s what Smart brings to the table,” he added.

Loaded with such features and capabilities, Samsung’s flagship phone has been setting records worldwide. With nearly 10 million pre-orders since it was unveiled in early May, it bested threefold the record set by its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S2, just the year before.

To pre-order this amazing Android smartphone on the country’s most amazing network and to know more about Smart’s postpaid plans, go to www.smart.com.ph/galaxys3 or visit the Smart Store nearest you.

Lady Gaga Monster Ball Live in Manila 2012 – A Rather Emotional Gaga

Lady Gaga Monster Ball Live in Manila 2012 – A Rather Emotional Gaga

“I’m not a creature of your government, Manila.” – Lady Gaga

The very controversial Monster Ball concert still pushed through despite protests.  I am one of those who went to watch the spectacular production that Lady Gaga and the crew has prepared.  IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT!

The SM Mall of Asia Arena used for the first time to house the Lady Gaga Monster Ball concert.

I wasn’t prepared for the concert coz I decided to go watch just the day itself. Good thing I have some extra clothes by my car. The best of how I can look for a concert lol. And the bandage wrapped around my arm to hide that nasty bruise I just got. I hope it rather looks edgy and mysterious. Like DJ Mike was so eager to find out what’s wrapped inside the band.

Lady Gaga was quite emotional for the duration of the concert.  After singing the first few parts of the controversial “Judas”, the crowd cheered and danced and she said “Oh, you like this song huh…”  The song “Judas” is one of the songs people are protesting to saying it’s blasphemous etc. But Gaga explained that this song is just a metaphor of loving someone despite them betraying you.  And hasn’t this really happened to some of us in real life?

There were threats from protesters saying they would sue Gaga if there were any acts of indecency and any form of actions that are unnaccpetable to the Christian community.

I was bracing myself the entire night for something weirder than life GAGA acts but hey – I’m not worried about GAGA, I’m more worried about other pressing matters our country is facing and the criminals on loose and not to mention, the very corrupt government.

I think all these protests just gained Gaga more noise, more spotlight to showcase her “REAL SELF” and she says (here we go, Lady Gaga Quotes from Monster Ball tour Manila 2012)

“Tonight is not about making a statement. Tonight is us all coming together because we believe we were all born this way.”

“Manila are you having fun? If you’re not. I don’t give a f*ck”

“Tonight is all about togetherness. In our differences, we are all the same.”

“For those of you who aren’t free. Take this opportunity to free yourself.”

“My lifestyle is like one whole performance of liberation, for those of you who aren’t free. Take this opportunity to free yourself.”

“Its the fcking goddamn truth that people in the world need to be free and be proud of who they are.”

You guys taught me to never give up on myself.”

“The difference between rebels and non-conformists is that Non-conformists don’t take action & they pissed off when things don’t go their way-Lady Gaga

and Lady Gaga’s full speech at the Monster Ball tour Manila 2012

“I’m not an alien, I’m not a woman, I’m not a man, and I’m not a creature of your government, Manila.  I’m all your dreams and I’m all your potential.  Let me be all your insecurities and your fears. I’m your future, I’m everything that makes you sad and angry.  I’m you, little monsters.  Tonight’s not a statement, tonight’s us coming together because we believe we were all born this way.  Some people say I stand for things that are bad.  The truth is, I want the best for every single one of you.  My life is like one whole performance of LIBERATION.”

“All of those kids all around the world who take their lives when they’re so young because they feel bullied, or they’re afraid because they’re gay and don’t want to tell anybody.  Don’t you think that some of us should f*cking stand up for them and speak the godd*mn truth? It’s true! It’s not about the music, it’s not aobut my clothes, it’s not about having hit records.  It’s the f*cking godd*mn truth that people in the world need to be free and be proud of who they are.”

At the end of the night, Lady Gaga said “It’s all about the truth.”

“Its the fcking goddamn truth that people in the world need to be free and be proud of who they are.”

IPANEMA Urban Jungle Runway Show – Fashion, Dance, Art

IPANEMA Urban Jungle Runway Show – Fashion, Dance, Art
It’s not every day you get to witness a very glamorous fashion show like the recent one I’ve witnessed – the Ipanema Urban Jungle Runway show! Perhaps it’s my passion with Dance that I got to appreciate this fashion show more.  Production wise, it was very smooth.  Thumbs up for the models/dancers, the costumes, the choreography and the staff behind the show.

Last May 8, 2012 world-renowned Brazilian flip-flop brand, IPANEMA took style animals to an unforgettable experience out in the wild when it transformed the Bonifacio High Street into a mystical urban jungle where IPANEMA’s sassy new collection was paraded.
The IPANEMA Urban Jungle Runway Show was a night of fun and true enchantment; a sheer moment to captivate the Metro’s style stars through fresh, animated pieces that capture that jovial spirit unique to the IPANEMA brand. True to the happy and exotic vibe of the beaches of Brazil the brand has been known for since it has established itself back in 1971, the IPANEMA designs featured a refreshingly distinct mix of bright colors adorning striking and bold prints as well as vibrant and unique design patterns.
What exactly unfolded during the roaring runway show? A jamboree of mystical animals which included
the playful and graceful dolphin;
the sleek and agile “Jacob” of the land: the wolf.
Also making his regal presence felt was the king of the jungle, lion with its powerful and intimidating stance.
Completing the fashion soiree was the vibrant and sophisticated peacock;
the soaring eagle with its potent sexual energy;
the meek and mild gazelle that represents those with laid back taste;
the sexy and imperial snake;
the eye-catching ostrich;
the zebra which dons its uniqueness in every possible way;
and the funny and quirky caterpillar, which transformed into a glamorous butterfly as its fellow animals strutted their way into the urban jungle, a place where there is boundless freedom to express one’s definitive flair and need for comfort. Indeed, it was a runway spectacle like no other.
The Urban Jungle Fashion Show is IPANEMA’s way of celebrating unique individuals who take on everyday determined to conquer the world and stand out. It’s a toast to go-getters who own their unique style and never compromise on getting what they truly desire.

Bigfish Manila White Party in June

Bigfish Manila White Party in June

Bigfish Innovation White party happens yearly.  I was at last year’s party, the one with Chicane and Emma Hewitt.  I think Emma liked Manila coz she’s coming back here for the Bigfish Manila White Party in June!

I borrowed her wings for photo ops

Bigfish’s annual white party hits Manila in June!

When: June 23, 2012

Where: World Trade Center

Time: 11 am

Come in WHITE :)

“Purity. Unity. Seduction. Sensation.” This is the maxim of Bigfish Innovation White. Clearly, at this party, you’re in for one heck of a musical ride.

Bigfish and Freedom Music present Bigfish Innovation White 2012, the country’s biggest musical congregation of white-clothed clubbers, happening on June 23 at the World Trade Center! This year’s lineup is a who’s who of the most promising acts in electronic music today:

  • Cosmic Gate
  • Myon & Shane54
  • Bobina
  • Emma Hewitt
  • joined by Bigfish’s John Paul Lee and Chris Raeuber

German DJ/producer duo Cosmic Gate made the global dance community snap to attention when they jumped 43 places to land on No. 19 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 for 2009. That was the same year they teamed up with the striking, silken-voiced Australian songstress Emma Hewitt for the single “Not Enough Time”, a dance music hit that earned them nominations for Best Trance Track at the 2010 International Dance Music Awards and Best Selling Trance Act at the 2010 Beatport Awards.

Hungarian duo Myon & Shane54 are another European trance tandem that’s carving a name for themselves as they gig from continent to continent. With a list of solid singles and fierce remixes to their name, even trance luminaries Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond are fans of their work, having featured them on their respective compilations.

Also on the bill is Moscow-based trance master Bobina, whom Ferry Corsten has called “one of the most talented music producers ever to come out of Russia”. Having released the country’s first #1 electronic dance album and being the first Russian DJ to snag a spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 roundup, Bobina is hailed as a dance music god in his home country.

Joining these trance greats at the Innovation White stage are Team Bigfish’s main men John Paul Lee and Chris Raeuber.

Head to the World Trade Center on June 23 and be part of this massive trance movement! Let’s keep things pure—let’s all come in white.

We wanted to join the team’s workshop the next day but both of us couldn’t make it.
We got to witness the Trey McIntyre dancers be emersed with our Filipino indegenous dances.
As ballet dancers, they are so used to “pointing” their toes.  Good luck to them, most of our tribal dances “flex” the foot!

Withdraw Google Adsense Payment via Robinsons Bank ATM Card

Withdraw Google Adsense Payment via Robinsons Bank ATM Card

I have been receiving Google Adsense payouts monthly and I opted to cash out using Western Union.  I’ve been doing this for 4 years and I’ve been waiting for a more convenient way to cash out my earnings.

Here’s one I just recently discovered.

Here in The Fort BGC, the only Western Union closest to my work area is the one by Robinson’s bank near Burgos Circle.  It’s the bank beside Starbucks. Smile

Since I worked in BGC, I’ve been encashing my Western Union payouts through Robinsons Bank.  Then they offered me this new product they have, the Robinsons Bank TXT Remit.

IMAG0790

Robinsons Bank TXT Remit

This applies for every Western Union Remittance.  So if you receive a remittance, regularly (monthly, weekly etc) then this card is perfect for you.

You don’t need to go out and walk to any Western Union branch, all you have to do is enroll for a card and once your Google Adsense screams “payment issued” then you text the code and it will automatically transfer your Western Union Remittance to the Robinsons Bank ATM Card.

It was pretty simple actually.  I got my card right after I applied – instantly!

robinsonsbank

Steps to Withdraw Google Adsense Payment via Robinsons Bank ATM Card

1.  Go to Robinsons Bank and register for the ATM Cash card.  Ask for the one you can link your Western Union account to.

2.  Fill-up forms.  Be sure to have at least 1 valid government ID.

3.  Wait for you card, they released mine instantly after I filled up their forms.

4.  Once you get your card, be sure to change PIN first.

5.  To transfer your Western Union remittances, or specifically your Google Adsense Payment via Western Union to Robinsons Bank ATM Card:

Text this and send to 0922-6372273

HANDOG <space> RCV <space> CARD# <space> REF# or MCTN <SPACE> SENDER’S FULL NAME <space> SOURCE COUNTRY or CITY <SPACE> AMOUNT

example:

HANDOG   RCV   6030800230010000038   000883320   GOOGLE INC.    USA  $1000

6. Wait for the confirmation code.  Wait for 1-2 hrs (based on my experience)

Warning:

They charge fees for every transaction.

– P1 for every fund transfer from Western Union to your Robinsons Bank ATM Card

– P2 for Balance Inquiry on their ATM (solution to this: is to check your balance online.  Register your ATM card at https://online.robinsonsbank.com.ph/)

– P11 for every ATM withdrawal

**I’m not sure if these amounts are really being implemented, but this is just my experience today.  Just putting it here so you are aware.

— In my case, I’d rather pay a little fee (P1, P11) rather than find a Western Union branch nearby and fall in line)

— so, it’s up to you ^_^

Hope that helps…

UPDATE: Forgot to mention: NO INITIAL DEPOSIT needed. Hence the fees they collect every transaction.

Connection

Blogging from WordPress app! Using my HTC Cha Cha.

Sometimes I have thoughts I want to put in writing and this is one of them.  I’m a bit sick as of the moment and can’t get out of bed… But I can still hold my phone and blog. Yaye!

Anyway, I just realized something.  People are dependent on each other, no man is an island.  But one thing I always try to pursue is to be independent of all my needs from other people.  Meaning, to stand alone… Have buffers, plan A and plan Bs… Not needing help as much as possible.  Nobody can achieve that state, definitely… But as much as I can, I try to be.

One thing I can’t stand though is being disconnected from people.  Talking to myself! It’s one horrible lonely feeling.

So yeah, I may not need a lot of help from people, but I do need that connection…

I’m a very lonely person and I think without Twitter, Facebook, Plurk, Tumblr etc, I’d be sitting in front of a psychiatrist now.  Social Media makes me alive, keeps me from being lonely, connects me to people… To friends far away.  To meet interesting people on the web and so much more!  Maybe that’s why they call me the Social Media princess… It’s not only me, I think everyone needs to connect…

So to all networks, telcos and mobile companies out there who compete for subscribers and users – this is what I say… People need to connect.  The more effecient and effective it is, the better.

Get creative.

Xoxo,

Ellesse Italia: Bring Back the Sporty Flair

Posted by on May 1, 2012 in Fashion, Featured, Sports, Style Flair

Ellesse Italia: Bring Back the Sporty Flair
I’ve got a flair for sports :) I believe it’s a fun way of keeping fit.  Who says sporty can’t be fashionable?

Check out this video :)

The 1970s was well-known for numerous signature looks such as bell-bottoms, psychedelic prints, etc.  However, what most apparel-historian-enthusiasts fail to mention is that there was one iconic brand that was preferred by most celebrities, royalty and sports personalities, Ellesse.   This iconic brand used to be patronized by the likes of former 007 Roger Moore, boxing legend Muhammad Ali, tennis greats, Boris Becker and Chris Evert.  Even the late Princess Diana wore Ellesse when she skied down the European alpine slopes.  No wonder this brand is no stranger to most who are now in the late 30s to 50s.

Fast-forward 2012.

I went to their branch at Bratpack Greenbelt 5 :)

Primer Group of Companies, the same company that exclusively distributes popular international brands like Fitflop, Bauhaus, Sledgers and The North Face in the country, is bringing Ellesse back.  It’s re-inventing the iconic brand for the new generation by merging simplicity and intricacy in its designs while taking influence from its strong Italian heritage with a modern twist.
It has 2 distinct product lines, Sportchic and Heritage line.

The Sportchic line
ranges from your basic tee, polo shirts up to fashionable tops.

Heritage line
features iconic products from the archives of Ellesse where they are reinvented and reinterpreted for the 21st century using modern fabrics and details.

For its first Southeast Asian collection, the brand introduces the “backpack jacket”.

These jackets are fitted with a strap inside that allows the wearer to “backpack” it when not wearing it, leaving both hands free to do whatever.  No more unfashionable “tying the jacket on the waist” situations.

For its footwear line up, the brand incorporates memory foam into its new casual Italia line, giving comfort as it conforms to the wearer’s unique insole.

To see the full line of Ellesse apparel and footwear, visit in the Ellesse Store in the 2nd floor of the New Wing of Alabang Town Center and in Abreeza Mall, Davao City.  The apparel line is available in Bratpack Greenbelt 5, Bratpack Robinsons Place Manila, Bratpack Gateway Mall, Bratpack Eastwood City, Bratpack Marquee, Bauhaus Trinoma, and The Travel Club Express Mactan Cebu.  It’s footwear line is available in all Res|Toe|Run branches and in Bratpack GB5.

It’s also set to open a free standing store at Bonifacio High Street at the Fort this May 2012.  It will also be available in Bratpack Camp John Hay Baguio City and Chimes Department Store in Davao this March 2012.

Urbanears Tanto Headphones on the Go

Urbanears Tanto Headphones on the Go

What I love about Urbanears is they go with different colors.  Pink isn’t really my favorite color.  Pink is okay.  But I’ve established *pink* to be my blog’s color, my blog’s brand…

Fashion, comfort and music quality :)

The Tanto is constructed for maximum mobility without the compromise of performance, adorned with a sleek and minimalistic look. It is designed thinking you want the full sound experience in a lightweight and portable headphone made for everyday use to be taken along wherever you go, like a good friend.

If lightweight headphones are your thing, this is definitely for you.

I personally prefer light and thin headphones than the bigger ones… coz sometimes bigger ones are uncomfortable for me.

But it all depends on your preference :)
