AirAsia Philippines Now Flies to Bali, Bangkok, Phuket, Australia and Japan (Fly-Through)

I just booked my trip to NEPAL (to see Mt. Everest) via AirAsia!

I booked via Clark – Kuala Lumpur – Kathmandu

Nepal is the newest destination of AirAsia MY.  They don’t have fly-through flights yet but here are new destinations you can fly-thru hassle-free!

Philippines’ AirAsia adds Bali, Bangkok, Phuket and other ASEAN tourist destinations to its Fly-Thru network!

Philippines’ AirAsia just launched its new Fly-Thru service from Clark International Airport to top tourist destinations in Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. The new service offers guests more convenient transit process, hassle free luggage check-in and other connecting convenience from Clark airport to Bali, Jakarta, and Surabaya in Indonesia; Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand and Singapore.

To celebrate the new Fly-Thru routes, AirAsia offers all-in promo fares from as low as Php3,149 for Singapore, Php3,859 for Phuket, Php4229 for Bangkok and Surabaya, Php4,439 for Jakarta and Php4,729 for Bali. The promo starts July 30 until August 5 only and guest will be able to travel from November 1- January 31, 2013.

The Fly-Thru service was introduced by AirAsia last year with connecting flight options from selected destinations in the AirAsia route network which spans across 20 countries and 80 destinations. It allows guests to seamlessly connect on multiple flight legs, on certain flights without needing to pass through immigration, collect bags, re check-in between flights or have a transit visa. Bags will also be automatically checked through to the final destination.

Guest who will avail of the Fly-Thru service will be charged with a minimal fee of Php900 only which will already be included in the all-in fare upon booking via airasia.com while connecting time is expected to take less than 5 hours. All connecting destinations will come from AirAsia’s transit point in LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) in Kuala Lumpur.

The Filipino carrier has recently launched its first Fly-Thru service to Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney in Australia and Osaka-Kansai in Japan.

Promo fare is also being offered beginning July 30 until August 5 for as low as Php8,449 for all Fly-Thru service from Clark airport to Australia with travel period from September 18 – December 16, 2012.
To get the latest bargain deals follow Philippines’ AirAsia on Facebook and Twitter.

Philippines’ AirAsia call center also accepts booking of regular fares via +632 588 9999 from Monday to Sunday at 0800hrs to 2100hrs (GMT +8). Guests from Metro Manila may also purchase seats through AirAsia Travel Service Centers (ATSC) located in SM North Edsa in Quezon City and in Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Lewis Hamilton vs Kimi Raikkonen again?

Hungarian Grand Prix Qualifying

Lotus team went off to a great start in the first few runs during Qualifying 1, but Lewis Hamilton created traction setting a lead amongst the rest and thus garnered the fastest Qualifying time for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton’s and his team’s strategy were one with the Lotus team where they avoided using soft tires.

Adonit Jot, No More Finger Painting

Adonit Jot, No More Finger Painting

Touch screens have simplified technology, but there has yet to be a way to capture the precision of a calligrapher or the stroke of an artist. Not only should it meet your needs, but a stylus should have style.

We would like to fix that.

Introducing Jot, the stylus the world’s been looking for.

Your stylus should be as sharp as your ideas. The thin and clear disc gives you the accuracy you want in a digital pen.

Hold your stylus at the angle you’re most comfortable with. Jot gives you the freedom to write or sketch like you’re used to.

Jot Pro attaches magnetically to your tablet. Pen clips are so yesterday. *Compatible with iPad 2 and The New iPad only.

RUBBER GRIP (Pro only)

For more command and comfort.

POCKET SIZED (Mini only)

Everything great about Jot, just smaller. You still get the precision that has revolutionized tablet accuracy, but now it fits nicely in your pockets.

MOBILE CLIP (Mini only)

A fast and stylish way to transport your stylus. Jot Mini is ready to go when you are.

Once Jot is in your grip, the quality is unmistakable. The durable aluminum and steel gives Jot superior conductivity and craftsmanship comparable to any luxury pen.

Protects the precision disc when Jot is taking a break. Sits on the back of the stylus when Jot is in the game.

Compatible with all capacitive touch screens: iPads, iPhones, MacBook Trackpads, Magic Trackpads, HTC, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, Blackberry.

Although Jot works with any app, some apps have been calibrated for a precision stylus rather than a finger. These apps have integrated Adonit’s Jot Ready SDK so when used with Jots, they are the best stylus experience on the market. Check them out. If your app isn’t on the list, email us which app you would like to see integration with. Also let that app know you want integration. If you don’t tell them, they won’t know.

Jot plays well with the majority of screen protectors but, due to the large variety, there are some that Jot does not.

Jot does NOT work well with these screen protectors due to their extra grip nature:

Zagg Glossy Invisible Shield (but Smudge-Proof Invisible Shield works well)

Ghost Armor

If you decide to NOT use a screen protector always keep your screen clean of dust and particles.

Jot has been recognized with an international iF Design Award for Product Design.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Classes: Back to School

Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Classes: Back to School

I’m back to school! I’m currently enrolled at the University of Michigan (UMI). I’m taking online courses and it’s my first time!

There are quite a lot of advantages learning online:
– no sipsip! Everyone is equal
– study at your own time
– study at your own pace (just make sure you’re aware of deadlines)
– you can hit REWIND
– results of exams and assignments are instant (if automated)
– save money in transportation, food and maybe even lodging
– you can interact with fellow online classmates by using the forum

And also disadvantages of learning online:
– less feedback
– you need to be disciplined since you watch your own back

I don’t think I have experienced enough disadvantages yet. I will update this list when necessary.

Quan Spa at the Marriott Hotel Manila

Posted by on Jul 24, 2012 in Beauty, Entertainment and Lifestyle, Featured, Health

Quan Spa at the Marriott Hotel Manila

“Quan” is a Chinese word that means “a source of pure water”

Water is an abundant natural element of life – health, wellness and energy.  Just as I entered the lobby of Quan Spa, that was exactly how I felt.

I was greeted by the polite staff of Quan Spa who then offered me a comfortable seat in their lobby and a refreshing Pineapple Ginger and Honey drink.

It was one hectic week for me filled with a ton of workload, hosting gigs and events I covered.  My body was screaming for some little rest and recreation time.  Quan Spa was a perfect venue for me to destress.

I went straight to Quan Spa after work.

I go to a spa at least twice a month.  I work my body so hard from doing pole, my brain gets squeezed enough from writing articles and brainstorming new campaigns and to top it off, I have critical events that I need to cover which means much stress to my body.  After all this, I give time to pause and refresh.

I have been to different spas locally and abroad and I’d still say, Quan Spa is the one to beat.  Not only are their facilities, façade and ambiance impressive, the service that I got from their therapist was also quite something.  Let me share that to you in detail.

This is their main lobby.  They are also selling beauty and bath & body products.

This is their women’s locker room.  I just took a peek!

If I wasn’t in a rush, I would have loved to explore more of their hot pool and dry sauna.

Guests who check in at the Marriott Hotel have free access to these facilities!

fresh flowers everywhere <3

The therapist led me to my massage room through a private bathroom.

I am obsessed with beautiful bathroom and toilets!

It has all the complete bath kit you can think of from Towels, lotion, dental cleaning kit, disposable underwear etc.

A blogger has to do what she has to do…

Take photos before actually dipping in to the experience.

I do this to make the memory last Smile

I didn’t take photos of the actual massage room because I realized I was already almost naked and ready to get my therapy done.  I got the De-Stress Massage which they recommended.  The name speaks for itself and yes, I do need to de-stress.

This type of massage commenced with an application of therapeutic warm Moor mud to relax and soothe the back muscles and provide additional benefits such as reducing inflammation of the muscles, joints and sprains.  The benefits of this massage were enhanced by a micro-emulsified oil so that all vitamins are easily absorbed by the skin, delivering the ultimate skin nourishment and repair.  This lasted for an hour and a half.

The massage was so good that I was able to sleep – and I barely sleep when I’m getting a massage!  My back felt so good like all the tension left!

After the massage they have a room that I call “recovery room”

I didn’t really ask what this area was called but they let us stay here to relax some more while sipping some hot tea.

This experience was fit for a princess (or a prince) and I just felt like one.  Quan Spa is ideal for businessmen who want to de-stress after a tough meeting, for travelers who have ample time before their next flight (as Quan spa is near the airport), for spa aficionados and for those who want a taste of the good life.

Flair Tips on Managing your Credit Card

Posted by on Jul 20, 2012 in Career, Life, Personal

Flair Tips on Managing your Credit Card

FLAIR TIPS on Managing your Credit Card:

  • Manage your spending.   Have a budget, don’t buy what you can’t afford
  • Don’t spend in excess of what you earn.  Live within your means.
  • Stay within your credit limits.
  • Pay bills on time. Be wary of your payment deadlines!
  • Pay your bills on time every month! Avoid additional fees and debt, pay on or before your due date and again, don’t spend in excess of what you earn
  • Be on the lookout for new offers from credit card companies.  New cards are being offered in the market  with features that allow you to earn as you spend

My New Best Friend – the New EastWest Everyday MasterCard

It’s  your All-in-One Cash Rebate Card

I have been living on my own for a while now and being independent has a lot of pros and cons.  One thing is definitely for sure, you take care of your own self.  I don’t have help so I clean my own house, take my clothes to the laundry, do my dishes and pay the bills.

On top of that, I have to do my grocery shopping on my own and take care of my own gas and car maintenance expenses!

I have to be careful with my cash flow.

My expenses could really go out of hand if I don’t manage my cash flow well!

I stumbled upon ways I can earn while spending for my groceries, gasoline, meds and even shopping and travel!

Oh, it’s part of being a lifestyle blogger, you spend for the good life you deserve!

Wouldn’t it be great to get something back from your daily purchases?  Well then, EastWest has the perfect credit card for us!  It’s the new EastWest Bank’s Everyday MasterCard!

I can get up to 5% cash rebate on my supermarket, gas and drugstore purchases.   Unlike other credit cards that offer cash rebates, I am not limited to earning rebates only for gas, or only for groceries, or only for a specific drugstore.  This cool credit card is an all-in-one cash rebate card.  That means, I can say goodbye to my other credit cards!  No more multiple annual fees (more clothing budget for me!) No more juggling with several statements of account (more me time for…me!)

Not only that, the cash rebates are automatically credited to your card once you reach an accumulated rebate of P200.00 monthly for hassle-free crediting!  I don’t need to redeem! How great is that?!

So lemme see what I can get for my purchases this month…

3 new tops

A pair of shoes (with to-die-for heels)

The bag I’ve been drooling over for weeks

New eye make up (a set of colors for each of my 3 new tops)

Total purchases to make me feel fab

A month’s worth of unleaded gasoline (save Mother Earth!)

Several trips to the supermarket to fill my faithful ref and bottomless candy cabinet

Vitamins to keep me healthy (can’t rely only on the doctor!)

Total monthly purchases for my essential stuff

Cash rebates earned

Php 500! I get Php 500 back?! That’s another top! Hmmm… that means I need to get a new set of makeup, perhaps another bag to match my eyes… then of course I need to gas up to go to gimmicks so I can show off my new stuff.

That’s what I call smart spending!

Free Yoga Class at Urban Ashram Manila at Bonifacio High Street

I just tried yoga again yesterday and I’m taking 5 classes  FOR FREE!!!

urban ashram

Urban Ashram Manila Open House

Urban Ashram Manila celebrates their newest location at the Bonifacio High Street.  It is very accessible to where I work so it’s perfect!  With their soft opening, they also invite and encourage yoga enthusiasts and those who want to try it by joining their Open House from July 14 – 24, 2012.

Over 40 FREE Yoga Classes for you to sign up for from 14 to 24 July 2012. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED TO JOIN ANY OF THE OPEN HOUSES CLASSES.

You can sign-up for to a maximum of five (5) classes during the Open House period. Regular class schedules will follow starting July 25 and you can check out the class schedules for the rest of July and August by clicking here.

I took the 6:30am class yesterday and the class said “FNR” or Flexibility Not Required.  But we worked most of our core out and right now, my abdomen is in blissful pain.  The pain you should be proud of because you know your yoga session worked well to tone your body.

*Come at least 20 minutes before class time and bring a valid photo ID along with towel and water bottle for the class.  No cellphones, bags or personal belongings will be allowed inside the studios. Lockers will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Shower facilities MAY NOT be available during the Open House period (because they are still fixing some facilities).

Check their open house class schedule and reserve your slot here: http://www.urbanashrammanila.com/openhouse

What I appreciate

I give much importance to doing my workouts the right way.  I appreciate my pole teachers, Polecats Manila, on how they value proper form and body alignment.  Doing things the right way not only avoids causing injuries to your joints and muscles, but most importantly, your work-out would be more efficient and effective.

Urban Ashram as the same value.  Although I think the class I took was for beginners, I felt my core like no other!

Their technique is not to get overwhelmed with poses but to make sure your body is aligned the right way when you are doing poses.

It was a great challenge for me, but I think it would help me much with my pole dancing.

Check their open house class schedule and reserve your slot here: http://www.urbanashrammanila.com/openhouse

See you there!

Crumpler Volume Rebate Travel Bag Organizers

Crumpler Volume Rebate Travel Bag Organizers

Have a Flair for Travel!  One thing you need to worry about most of the time is organizing your luggage when you travel!  It’s all about maximizing your luggage’s space capacity!

Maximise your suitcase capacity with this trio of travel accessories consisting of shirt bag, shoe bag and sock bag.

The secret art of suitcase packing is secret no more, and our space-saving, crease-fighting Volume Rebate luggage-within-luggage is why. Holding up to three pairs of footwear and a week’s worth of socks and pressed shirts, this triple treat of compacting compartments magically maximises suitcase capacity and access, allowing you to get more into your luggage, and more out of it, more easily.

3 Storage Zones

  • Zippered shoe bag — holds a pair of men’s runners and a pair of thongs, or up to three pairs of women’s flats
  • Zippered shirt bag — holds up to seven men’s t-shirts or five business shirts
  • Drawstring sock tube — holds up to five pairs of standard socks or up to ten pairs of ankle socks

How the Sock Tube Works

You simply stuff and retrieve clean socks at the coloured end, and stuff worn pairs at the opposite end. A floating floor keeps them separate, the dual drawstring closures keep them in place.

How the Shirt Bag Works

Stack your folded and ironed shirts and t-shirts neatly in the bag, then zip shut and squeeze out any trapped air via the side vent. Once compressed, wrap the bag around your loaded sock tube, lock with the quick release clasp, cinch tight and stow away.

How the Shoe Bag Works

Load in your shoes, squeeze out any trapped air via the end vent, then stow away in your luggage. Next stop Hawaii.

Fits in all Crumpler Luggage

No surprises here. The Volume Rebate threesome fits comfortably in our «Boston Height» overnighter, the entire «Spring Peeper» range, plus all the carry on and check in wheelies, Four-on-the-Floors and backpacks from our «Dry Red» travel collection.

Extra Shirt Bags

Good things don’t just come in threes, they come in ones. So if you need more shirt space — or simply want a more organised suitcase — grab one of these extra Volume Rebate Shirt Bags in the colour of your choice.

Water Resistant

Although designed to sit inside your luggage, the outer of each Volume Rebate bags is made from water resistant materials.

Guaranteed for Life

The Volume Rebate’s three compartments are constructed  with ultra durable materials and reinforce the joining and/or stitching on all stress points. That’s why its three compartments all carry Crumpler’s famous lifetime guarantee.

Drum Tao Review – Wowed my Entire Soul

Drum Tao Review – Wowed my Entire Soul

I am a fan of drums and I’m a frustrated drummer!  Back in high school, I wanted to both dance for the cheerleading squad and beat the drums for us.  But I can’t half myself into two can I?

When I heared that Drum Tao is performing in Manila, I was excited!  I’ve heard so many good things about them! World-renowned Japan martial arts and drum-playing extraordinaires, Drum Tao, is only here in Manila to perform 10 shows only from July 12-22.

I watched Drum Tao at the Newport Theater, Resorts World last Friday.  Traffic was crazy! It was payday Friday!  Watching Drum Tao was exhilarating though.

My friend Beth and I managed to take photos with the Drum Tao cast as they were passing the restaurant we were at.

Graceful Lady Drum Beaters

I’m very happy there were women beating not only the small drums but the really BIG ONES!  These girls were very graceful, despite the power they were evoking while they beat every bit of these big drums!

Hair Flipping

Don’t get me started with some of the guys, one of the specialty moves of one of the guy drummers was – HAIR FLIPPING!  He just knows the heart of hair flipping with all his sould that he inserts every appropriate hair flipping on his drum choreography!  I envy him because I fail at hair flipping coordination when I pole 😛

Both the guys and women got great physique.  I imagine them practicing everyday.  The ladies would perform showing parts of their back, and you could see their powerful muscles and their cuts while they beat!

As for the men, they perform with so much passion!  They perform with traditional costumes or sometimes, topless!  And you can see those muscles get angry in front of you!  I’m not kidding!

Synchronization and Harmony

I am just at awe at how these guys would start from a teasing beat… to later, a very climactic and upbeat tempo and then all of a sudden, all of them beat that one last drum beat — BHAAAM!

I am not sure if they count every beat, but they do know when to stop the beat at one big WHAAAM! Just like that!  If I were one of the performers, I bet I’d screw up and not know when that happens.

Skill and Power

No doubt about this.  They were beating slow, fast… plus, they have choreography.  It was like their brain-muscle coordination are far supperior than us ordinary humans.

They weren’t only using drums.  They had other strings and pipe instruments.  Plus, they can do martial arts and well – acting.

It’s one show you  must watch :)

Check out details about Drum Tao tickets and schedule here.

Katy Perry and Maroon 5 Highlights the Singapore Grand Prix 2012 Entertainment Line-up

Non-stop action at the 2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix

Whether you are addicted to the roar of Formula One engines, an ardent music lover, or just looking for a great night out, the 2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix has cooked up one fun-filled weekend for the ticket holders!

One ticket gives you access to Asia’s biggest sporting and entertainment extravaganza and catch topnotch headliners:

  • Katy Perry
  • Maroon 5
  • Jay Chou
  • Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
  • Bananarama
  • Pretenders and
  • The Proclaimers!

Sweet if you missed Katy Perry or Maroon 5’s concert in Manila!

Concert for everyone!

A total of 46 artists will be performing at 6 different stages across the Circuit Park in a single weekend!

Expect a full entertainment line-up which includes international and local acts, roving performances, visual installations and more.

Here’s the initial schedule of the performances.

If you’re planning to witness the 5th year of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, you might want to download the Singapore GP Mobile App!

3 Support Races to Triple the Excitement

The fifth installment of the night race will have over 100 of the world’s finest racing cars competing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.  Not one, not two, but three top-line racing series will provide the back-up for the 2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix this September 21 to 23.

Making its first visit to the Singapore street circuit is GP2 – the series which has proved itself as the category of choice for future Formula One stars.  Former GP2 graduates make up half of the 2012 Formula 1 grid, including reigning GP2 champion Romain Grosjean and 2008 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

The seris, which was hailed in 2005 as “one of the brightest motor sport innovations since the combustion engine”, will stage their final round in Singapore.

In another first, the magnificent 4.5-litre V8 berlinettas in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Asia Pacific 2012, will also bring their championship-closing fifth round to Singapore.  A field of 30 of these 570-horsepower machines will be a feast for the senses as they bring the unmistakable sounds of Maranello to the Far East.  In the Ferrari 458 Challenge, the cars may look amazing but the drivers are the key components – whether in the Trofeo Pirelli for more professional drivers or in the Coppa Shell for “gentleman” drivers.

Back for its fifth year on the Singapore Grand Prix card is the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, which brings a field of over two dozen 911 GT3 Cup cars contesting the 10th season of this immensely popular one-make category.  With the Singapore event coming towards the climax of their 2012 season, the competition is going to be at its most intense as competitors test their mettle at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Reminiscing on the 3 years I went to Singapore just to cover the Singapore Grand Prix

Oh, did I tell you I had access to the pitstop? ***I’MSOLUCKY***

So tell me… why do people love people who don’t love them back? Why struggle?
