It was seven in the evening when we went to Casa Ysabel. It is located at the heart of Lipa City, Batangas and is just meters away from our home. Just when you see the vintage façade, you’ll be mesmerized by its beautifully structured interiors inspired by the Spanish era, giving you a feel of the walls of Intramuros.
Amenities are tremendous from the antique bench, to the huge and picturesque chandelier and to the restaurant called “Caffé Ysabel Coffee & Deli” where we have dined. A feel-good ambiance enwrapped us as we eat in the said restaurant/café. The songs in their playlist fit the calmness of the milieu. The attendants were very accommodating, serving us the food conveniently. Comfort and affordable food were offered as seen on their/the menu.
Aiming to fill our empty stomach, we have ordered the following:
Sizzling Sisig with egg (P139)
Chicken Pesto Pasta (P200)
Classic Caesar Salad (P130)
Hot Cappuccino (P65)
Thing is, pizza, cakes and pastries were not available at that time since they are almost about to close their café when we arrived.
After making our tummies happy, we stroll around the beautiful place. We asked the caretaker/watchman if we can take a look at the activity hall found at the second floor. We have witnessed an exquisite panorama. He even shared us a brief history about the place that it was in 1982 when it was built/put up. Yesteryears, it was called “Kamalig sa Lipa” owned by an old maiden originated from Bicol. And now, this is owned by the famous furniture, lights and décor shop SylPaulJoyce. Sylvia, Paul and Joyce are siblings and Ysabel as well where the name Casa Ysabel was derived.

When I heard the Smart Bro pocket WiFi was on sale at P2,995 I instantly grabbed it. I got the prepaid one which fits my budget and my pattern of WiFi usage. Basically, I need connection with me all the time – like ALL THE TIME! It’s for work, for my blog and for getting tasks done.
I actually live somewhere in Manila – that is not near the busy districts. With that said, in my location there is no LTE coverage (yet, as Smart LTE coverage is expanding). It’s kind of a place where I wouldn’t usually get the best 3G signal.
But I’ve been using this Pocket WiFi for 2 months now, and it has been consistently giving me at least 1mbps internet. Not bad from my location really!
Eek! I think I got excited and took a screenshot before the upload finishes to get tested.
Anyway, this 2mbps I get usually in the wee hours… for a normal time like mornings, afternoons and evenings I get at around 1mbps.
So is it really 4x faster? I cannot say accurately, but I have compared the 3 different broadband accounts in my place and Smart’s Pocket WiFi is the most satisfactory. I’m not sure in other locations, so you go check yourself if you need to.
Music Icons re-creates Classic OPM Song (Music Video)
OPM rock legends Ely Buendia, Barbie Almalbis, Rico Blanco and Raimund Marasigan re-created a classic Filipino rock song Tayo’y Mga Pinoy. I was at the launch last Feb 25, EDSA People Power Revolution’s 27th anniversary.
Oh hello there Rico! ^_^
Check out the video for yourself, it features the great talents of our truly pinoy and proud artists and amazing sights in the Philippines.
You can download Tayo’y Mga Pinoy free on iTunes and on m.smart.com.ph
Smart users can also use the full song track as free caller ring back (free for 5 days renewable for P15/15days) just text PNOY to 2728.
Life as a traveler can be pretty demanding espacially if you were the one planning the trip for the group or you brought work with you. It’s a fact of my blogger life that I can’t live without my gadgets.
My smartphone has been of great use. The numerous apps I can download from the App store is overwhelming and I put it to good use. When I travel, I need maps, compass, trip organizer, games for when I’m bored etc.
The demand for extra power has been increasing. These smartphones require more energy and power than dumb phones. (Forgive the term, it’s just to give contrast).
So, with that said, I can never be afraid of losing access to instagram and documenting my journeys when I have a back-up charger with me. There are a lot of different kinds and types of mobile / portable travel chargers that you can choose from, but I’m going to review Inboosta Travel Booster – one of your options if you’re planning to get one!

One strand of hair can determine her outlook for the day. If she doesn’t have confidence in her appearance, she should try to become beautiful. If she has confidence in herself, then she’ll be able to be courageous.
As she does, she’ll begin to understand what sort of face she wants to present to the world as an adult.
But until then, she’ll worry and get more and more lost…
This girl, Sunako Nakahara gave up on all beautiful things.
Some things I grabbed from watching this Japanese live action series Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. It started out with an anime version and then they made a live action series of it. It’s one of the best comedy / dramas I’ve ever seen in my life. This and Hello, My Sweetheart from Taiwan.
They say, Japanese people are conservative. That they just don’t show their feelings and that what happened in the live action series doesn’t really happen in real life. But creating series like this, and these wonderful stories, is one way of expressing themselves.
Anyway, I reflected a lot on that tv series. Mainly the theme was society’s brutal expectations of us humans, and how we should embrace our own character and be ourselves. It talks about beauty in and out. It will make you think about the definition of “lady” and “love”
In this series, they talk about women dressing up as armor. – armor of confidence.
Anyway, I just finished the series last night and I am highly affected. In a good way, it made me believe in love again.
Here’s the schedule for 2013’s Formula 1 Grand Prix! It’s gonna be really exciting. I was planning to watch Malaysia Grand Prix but seems like I’m gonna be very busy that month-end. It is still my dream to watch F1 worldwide!
Pacific X-treme Combat or PXC is quite a new word on my blog. But, I have learned to LOVE this sport ever since it was assigned to me on my previous job with TV5.
First of all – it’s full of men with hunka-duba bodies!!! *faints* ABS! ABS! ABS! Everywhere! It drives me to stay SEXY so that I won’t look like a total frog beside them!
Second, it’s a serious sport but it’s full of fun! True, it could be a little violent, but that’s the nature of the sport. Like any other sport, I believe this stretches the capabilities and limits of a human body.
So, for my outfit that night, I just had to be a little “boyish” and “sporty” – which is a combo I LOVE because it is very comfortable! (as opposed to butt-high skirt and 5ft heels >.<
Red boyfie polo from — I forgot where! One of those bazaars!
Anyway, I was in a rush because I was super late for the event so I only managed to take a photo head down (no full figure photo) boo! I know, bad fashion blogger I am >.<
I was supposed to ask my friends to take photos, but the VIP section was quite visible to everyone watching PXC so uhm… never mind!
Good view! This was where I was seated
Oh and look! My TV5 buddies Ram and Gael ^_^
Anyway, it has been decided, that apart from being a “Flair Candy” that I am, I’d also be a social rebel. Meaning, I just don’t conform to what society dictates. Society is evil sometimes, but you know, as human beings, we need to deal with it. I hope it would inspire other women, (and maybe men) teens and even people older than me. We never stop learning from everyone so I hope I could send a message that we can be who we want to be, follow your heart
Congratulations to Harris Sarmiento and Louis Smolka
These two really wowed the crowd. Great fight for the two winners!
Recently, I realized I have a lot of gadgets that I don’t get to use anymore. I LOVE buying gadgets! It just makes my life easy and awesome But then, I don’t have all the time in my life to tinker with all of them.
If you are reading this, take a moment and look around your house. How many things do you see that you haven’t used in at least a year. Uh-huh, surprisingly there’s quite a few items in your house, that you don’t need. One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure. Yep, somewhere out there, someone would be interested in buying what you don’t need anymore.
Hoarding. I think Filipinos are guilty of this. I am guilty of this! I’m collecting these phones that I don’t get to use. I would think “sayang, baka magamit pa ng yaya ko.” Or, “No one would want to buy this anymore!”
My inner gut says “Don’t make a statement unless you tried it.”
Here’s a video about a typical Filipino household who got smarter.
I have decided, it’s time to sell.
I have been following this local buy and sell website for a while – Sulit.com.ph. Yes, I bet it sounds familiar, because when you google something you need, this website pops out quite often. Why is this website so popular? Because people need to buy. People need to sell.
Currently, Sulit.comph is the Philippine’s #1 Buy and Sell Website. It has always been since years ago and up until now, it has maintained its status to be at the top. I am marveled by this achievement thought I would take advantage of this.
Ready. Fire. Aim.
In the world of the internet, we don’t do the usual ready-aim-fire. Because the cost of putting up an online business or online website is not much as compared to having a physical store, we just READY ourselves for ideas and opportunities, FIRE – (just do it), AIM (adjust as necessary).
This is what happened to the founders of Sulit RJ and Arianne David (bf-gf at that time, but now married). Sulit hand humble beginnings when they launched it on September 11, 2006 in RJ’s room.
Their starting capital P2,400.
Like I said earlier, it doesn’t cost much to put up a business idea online. P2,400 might just include the “.com” purchase and some hosting services.
Investing for FREE
RJ and Arianne had an initial investment of P2,400. You too can invest even for FREE! Maybe all you need is a little time to set up an account at Sulit.com.ph and take advantage of the creation of RJ and Arianne. It took me barely 3 minutes to set-up mine!
With Sulit, you can start to profit at no cost at all because they offer FREE membership and FREE posting of ads.
If you are selling a house, lot, gadgets, your services and other items (new or old), then I think it’s about time you take advantage of this site too.
Features of Sulit.com.ph
The Philippines’ #1 Buy and Sell Website
Free membership + Free posting of ads
Sulit Gold – Sulit.com.ph’s virtual currency which sellers purchase to get more exposure for their ads
Sulit.com.ph has a thriving community with 1.9 million members (aka Sulitizens) – a trait that sets them apart from other local buy and sell websites in the country
Received more than 2 billion total pageviews last 2012
Current stats: average of 7 million pageviews and 700,000 unique visitors DAILY
Won numerous awards including Best Website from the Philippine Web Awards

Pacific X-treme Combat is one of Asia’s biggest and best MMA organizations based in Guam, they soon of course spread there brand to the Philippines and have grown massively since then. PXC has experienced massive growth in both ticket sales and TV viewers. Since then it has been tagged the fastest growing sport of MMA.
If you don’t know anything about MMA, I suggest you watch the movie BOOM! It was very fun and entertaining, and you would love the sport (If you don’t love it yet).
If you haven’t heard of PXC, then let me give you a briefer.
This February 16th, another PXC fight is about to bring you a packed card including a Lightweight Title Fight and an Interim-Bantamweight Title Fight. This will happen at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Featuring the main event is the Lightweight Title Fight with two Philippine fighters Harris Sarmiento (35-34) and Isiah Ordiz (2-0-0) in what must be a holding fight for the belt that Mark Striegl (12-0) is destined to win during the coming year.
Main Event: Sarmiento vs Ordiz, Tiamanglo vs Tanaka
I was there during the last fight of Sarmiento. Striegl beat him at 2:37 seconds of Round 1 – I was just getting ready for the fight, and then it was over. Well, I guess I need to get used to Striegl’s fights. The odds must favor Sarmiento because of the high quality opponents he already battled, whereas, Ordiz is relatively inexperience. I was there when Odiz had his last fight too, all I can say is – he is ONE FIGHTER! Backstage, he kept practicing his moves until the time he was called on stage for his fight.
If Sarmiento wins this fight, he must surely fight Striegl again.
The Interim-Bantamweight Title Fight features Joe Taimanglo (17-4-1) from Guam tackles Japan’s Michinori Tanaka (6-0) these two are both submission experts so expect a highly technical and exciting bout.
