This is it! It’s my 3rd time to do Stellar! Stellar is our Pole summer show recital hosted by our Pole Studio – Polecats Manila. Every year, The students get to showcase their pole tricks and talent – changing the way you view pole dancing.
I have been doing pole for 2 years and all I can say is, this is one thing I’m not giving up on my life. It keeps me happy, it doesn’t bore me, it challenges me every time. It gives me that certain confidence that nothing is impossible!

WOOHOO!!! I cannot contain my excitement as I unbox my Pole. For a while I had to think of a name for my Pole. At first I thought of Van Gogh. To name it after a great artist with a taste of rough beauty and with personal issues himself. But nevertheless, a genius for his works. Pole opened my right side of the brain. My creativity. I think Van Gogh is a great name, but maybe not for a pole.
A pole name needs to be bad-ass and in my case, simple but rockin’ So I had to choose the Marvel supervillain LOKI (or that Norse god). The god of mischief. Arch-enemy of THOR. #geekmode
I tried to shape my body with my new pole to look like LOKI’s signature headpiece
I have been a fan of Loki’s character. Not his evil deeds, but his determination to do what he wants to be done. He’s a SUPER GENIUS! He is smart enough to always almost take down the Avengers! (Of course, in every story, good must win) Imperfect world. Even superheroes have the right to bleed and be imperfect. Even Superman almost destroyed the universe. All supervillains have also gone through some rough patch down their history. Or in mysterious ways for the Joker.. as no one really knows about his past.
Anyway, LOKI is bad-ass. He is not as popular of a villain as Lex Luthor but I’m glad you finally all met him in the movie Thor.
He’s quite handsome too… well, this is Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
I am now dedicated to getting fit. My Goal is to have the body fat of an Athlete! My ACE % is now at 25% (demn you buffets!) Just cause I think of myself as an athlete, that’s my goal. At least bring it down to 20% for the 1st quarter of the year.
My tools for daily calorie count: I use the My Fitness Pal app for Android which you can download also for iPad/iPhone. If you don’t have any of this, you can log in online http://www.myfitnesspal.com
Ever since I discovered Pole Dancing, my life changed. It affected me in so many ways that it even cured my quarter-life crisis drama.
I started Pole-dancing by mid April of this year. And until now, I dedicate 2 – 3 one-hour class every week for pole training! Dancing has been my first love (career wise). If ever I could do something forever that would be dancing!
I’m happy that I have advanced from Beginners 1 to Beginners 2… and just yesterday, I have advanced to Intermediate class I have never felt this strong in my life! I really feel that I can do so much more with this new strength I have. I can carry my own stuff now, my back hurts less and for some reason, I don’t get grumpy anymore!
Part of discovering this new hobby is discovering new outfits to fit my sport.
I am pretty active when it comes to sports. I run, surf, pole dance, longboard skateboard, I used to cheerdance – ahh and I drive like an F1 driver (as if! lol I mean karting).
I was so happy to discover that there are affordable stylish pieces that I can own from Sassa! Most of the pieces that they have also serve a lot of purposes.
For example this piece that I just owned…
I can wear it for pole-dancing, running (with extra sports bra for support) and surfing!!!
Sassa Activewear carries swimwear and sports/activewear for ladies all year round. Available in major department stores nationwide such as The Landmark, Makati & Trinoma; Robinsons Department Stores, Metro Gaisano Market! Market! and other stores all over the country.
So here’s my story. I just got back from a shoot at GMA and I was like “so sayang my makeup! let me do a photoshoot”… Then it rained T___T but you know what they say, when life throws you lemons, make lemonade. And that’s exactly what I did. When the rain got lighter, I went out of the house, made use of the gloomy weather and ta-da!
thanks to my boy for helping me take this photo…
and after a few hours, I had pole class. I wanted to climb the pole with it
Thanks to Mommy Tricia, and my other polemates for helping me take this photo

Coaches introduced the new layout of the circuit, plus an added weight station (not sure how to call it) and of course, their dance studio which would include pole dancing to be taught by the polecats.
The new branch in Makati is on 7th floor Dolmar Gold Tower, C. Palangca st., Legaspi Village, Makati.
I heard from my boyfriend who had a Taylor Lautner-like transition (from skinny to bulky), that free weights have more advantages than machines – well at least for him. Free weights use more muscles and it’s total body workout at its best.

More free weights, a really huge tire and bench press for your muscle building needs

After Pole class, I rushed to watch X-men First Class!
All I can say is, you have to watch it! The movie is dubbed by reviewers and critics as the best Marvel ever made so far! I won’t give any spoilers but do enjoy the movie over the weekend yah?
I had to put on some cologne, baby powder to freshen up and a blooming dress! It’s so hot in Manila and it feels like it’s either summer or typhoon season @_@
oh yeah, and after a month and a half of pole class, I can finally do this:
But of course, I need to practice more for more awesome stuff… the Polecats teachers are super awesome as well as my fellow Pole Kittens (students)! We give each other tips, we share stories and encourage each other ^_^ yaye to the new friendship! I love you guys *cyberhugzzz*
I am inviting everyone to our Pole Recital “Stellar” on June 4 2011, 7pm at Teatrino Theater and Bar, Greenhills.
We just had our general rehearsal yesterday night – and OH EM GEE! You would want to watch this show that won’t happen again (probably in the next 6 months to a year). We all worked hard on this and the performances are AWESOME to the hundredth power!
Come and watch us defy gravity! Students will perform, plus special performances and of course the Polecats too! It will WOW you like CRAZY! I’m not even exaggerating 😛
And the tickets are only at P500! Which to me is worth much more than that, you wouldn’t see this anywhere!
I can say I’m a late bloomer. I mean, I could have done all these things earlier – dancing, makeup, fashion and sewing! But instead, I took a route to the corporate world first. Not that I regretted ever studying Accounting and working for a corporation… I think all of that was meant to be and I enjoyed the journey I took and the people I’ve met along the way (which also incidentally prompted me to start my blog). At least, no one can say I’m a dumb bimbo now coz I have proof – I’m a licensed CPA baby! but meh, I discovered that I wanted to do more things other than corporate. I have used the left side of my brain and used it well, it is time for me to use my right brain
I knew I had to finally do this since I need to do my own makeup for my TV show Tek Tok TV. I took a one-day personal makeup training with Cielo Frontreras. If you see me and how I do my makeup now from time to time and you like it – that’s thanks all to Cielo! I also watched Michelle Phan’s tutorials on YouTube from time to time 😛
To be honest, I haven’t sewn in more than 10 years already. I studied sewing in high school as a side subject.
I knew I also needed to buy one because I have been dying to “create” and sew my own dresses. I often get frustrated at going around malls and not finding what I want!
One day, thanks to my Google Adsense earnings, I boldly bought a sewing machine! I didn’t even know at that time if I can sew again. But what the heck, I tried making my Akazukin Cha Cha costume and I was doing fine! Not the best tailoring, but good enough to start with (on me making my own costumes).
I don’t know how to make patterns though! >.< Which is a very important factor in sewing! I tried trying to find online video tutorials, but sadly, I find their explanations to complicated. I NEED to go to a school soon. But how did I survive sewing my costumes even without me having any knowledge on pattern making? I will share that secret in a bit!
Fashion and sewing go together! I love dressing up! but I don’t only love styling myself, I also think I have many ideas that would only be materialized if I sew them myself.
Luckily, I met a new friend at my Pole Dance Classes that helped me find a Fashion School I’m going to attend soon!
I have always been a dancer. But I stopped when I was taking my Accountancy course in College. Biggest regret in my life! I shouldn’t have stopped dancing! But it’s never too late to dance again and I would like to thank the Polecats for inviting me once to try their class and ladies and gents… I am now hooked… hooked on a pole – I’m in love!
We will have a recital soon on June 4. Can you believe it? I’m going to perform and dance again! This is awesome! Dancing and performing is just one thing I would love to do for life!
I just got home from our Pole Class Recital Photo Shoot. and yaye, I did my own makeup (proud of myself that I can do this on my own now THANK GOODNESS!) and I tailored my own shorts for this since I couldn’t find any glittery shorts in the mall.
my goal was to look like Dita Von Teese (at least the makeup part)
I can’t do my own hair that well yet, so I took my wig and voila!
While doing my pants… sewed these myself!
remember how I managed to sew without knowing how to make patterns…
well – I kind-of patterned it from one of the shorts I have at home 😛
I know, I know… I need to study pattern-making! >.<
This is me and my friend RJ. We will be dancing together! <3
Behind the set of our Photoshoot… it all happened quick! will post photos soon once they publish them!
had to cam-whore while I’m made-up… it took me like an hour to put on my makeup and stuff
So remember ladies (and gents if applicable), follow your dreams – NO EXCUSES!
If you don’t know how to do it – LEARN! Be resourceful…
Trial and error you can make mistakes honeys, but remember to learn from it!
INVEST! and if you don’t have money yet – GOOGLE!
and if it won’t hurt much to try it and fail (relatively risk-free) just READY – FIRE – AIM! (contrary to Ready Aim Fire)
you don’t need to be prepared to reach your dreams or whatever it is you want in life… JUST DO IT! TRY! TRY! TRY!
3 years ago, I never imagined I would be doing all these…
Obviously, I need more practice! This is my second day of Pole Dancing classes and we are practicing for our recital. I needed to catch up with the other dancers Anyway, I’m so not graceful yet like the pole doesn’t like me AT ALL… but I’d like to document my dance daily so that I can track my own progress
I’m so glad I can climb the pole now and stay on one position… although not graceful >.< will work my way there!
Btw, my thighs felt like they got their cherry popped – whaddup it was so hard for me to walk properly lol. At least I know my muscles are working!
