Philippine Elections 2010 Coverage

This year, traditional media and new media are working together for a more comprehensive coverage of the 2010 Philippine Elections.  Elections are usually a critical time in the Philippines.  In the past, many suspicious activities have been going on and let’s just say, it’s a little bit chaotic.  We all hope that this year’s elections would go as smoothly and as peacefully as possible.

These will live stream up-to-date news as it happens.  Bookmark the following websites:

TekTokTV.com – online blog of a TV show that airs on a Destiny Cable exclusive channel “Global News Network” (GNN).  Tek Tok TV hosts Vince Golangco and myself, along with other GNN hosts, will be anchoring updates on elections from May 10 – 13, 2010 starting at 6am in the morning.

JuanVote.com – this website is created for everyone and it encourages all Filipinos (you, yes you!) to be citizen journalists.  All of us can contribute to a peaceful election by being aware and vigilant of the election’s atmosphere on May 10.  Put #juanvote hashtag on your tweets related to the May 10 elections.

BlogWatch.ph – it has everything you need to know regarding the elections from how-to’s to your different presidentiables.  It is a bloggers’ initiative aiming to cover underplayed stories that traditional media cannot cover due to limited resources and time.

100araw.com – is a group effort of Filipinos from various fields and disciplines who, through new and social media, wish to share their different thoughts and views in the 100 days leading to the May 10, 2010 elections.

findyourprecinct.ph – the goal of this website is to help every Filipino find the location of the voting center for their precinct. The locations are contributed by volunteer mappers.
